2. Dr. Brown, How do you maintain balance in your life while being super successful as a mom, radio show host and businesswoman?
My secret to balance is not trying to find balance but instead opting for harmony. I am committed to self-care, self-reflection, and unapologetically loving me first. This shift came after a severe bought of transitional depression when my life took a unexpected turn and life as I knew it fell totally apart — I went from having it all to having no clue as to what exactly I was going to do with my life which is why in 2017 I founded The Leadhershift Movement to help women begin to shift the way we think of ourselves as women and how we respond. The underlining principle of the movement is to learn to unapologetically love ourselves first so that we can better serve others. The Leadhershift Mindset is rooted in the knowledge that we are a beautiful mosaic of our experiences good, bad, and hellacious. When I took the time to actually process the shifts in my life I found that I was moving in the right direction of my divine purpose.
My super success comes from being clear about who I am as a mom, businesswoman,sister, and friend while confidently owning my truth and ensuring that all my actions are consistently aligned to my mission, vision, and personal goals. I love being a mom and in order to be a great mom I first had to become intentional about being a better me.
