"The good seaman weathers the storm he cannot avoid."

Austen Alexander is an active-duty sailor whose personal brand is based on the fitness niche and military lifestyle.

By documenting his military career, Alex has empowered others through fitness tips, life hacks, and decision making.

This article covers all the tips and hacks Austen has used to achieve the goals he’s set in life.

Can’t handle the tension?

As a sailor, Austen has found himself in a lot of stressful situations; these range from fatigue to sleeping disturbances and losing close friends.

Instead of trying to tackle all of his stressors at once, Austen rates them according to their level of priority. The biggest stressors get taken care of first and the minor ones last. It’s that simple!

And when the world seems like it’s crashing down on you, then what do you?

Well, Austen recommends you Eat the Elephant one bite at a time, metaphorically speaking. Once you found out which stressors take the highest priority, try breaking them down into little chunks, slowly but surely, you’ll overcome them.

March to Success!

How does one achieve success? Do you out-work the competition? Up your game? Or maybe combine the two?

To be frank with you, there are a lot of ways to achieve success. We just have to find the one that works for us and follow that path until we succeed.

Austen found success by grooming simple positive habits every day.

At first, these don’t come off as things that would lead to victory but the constant application of these little procedures leads to a snowball effect that grows with every tackled obstacle.

Austen’s advice for everyone aiming for success is Time blocks!  Yes. It sounds like some sort of military technique, but it isn’t. Time blocks involve separating your time in increments( Step by Step process) or blocks.

You could do this by scheduling your tasks visually. Various mobile apps can help you out with this. Visuals help you to realize what your spending your time on and where you can improve on.

Taking care of your health is also vital when it comes to achieving success. When scheduling your time, Austen suggests you add short breaks to relax and enjoy a good meal. Adding time for sleep is important too! This helps create longevity.

How do I avoid Burnout?

Burnout is something that can affect our whole schedule, and dealing with it individual most people dread.

Austen’s hack to reducing the rate at which we experience burnout is to engage in activities we love doing. For Austen, Content creation comes naturally, it doesn’t seem like a task or a job. He also recommends we separate work from fun.

You should always find time to do things that make you happy.

Onward!

Planning ahead is something we do to stay achieve the goals we dream of and stay relevant in society.

Austen plans to keep pushing out videos, organize viral content and grow a community of like-minded individuals.

Being able to complete such a task requires a considerable amount of focus and motivation.

Keep pushing out videos, planning and organizing viral content, and keep growing a community of like-minded people.

What’s keeps Austen Motivated?

Well, the fact that he gets to make an impact on so many lives makes him push harder.

Here’s a piece from Austen that would change the way you approach motivation;

“One of the best feelings in the world is to help and motivate others. I would be devasted if I willingly didn’t help as many people as I could.”
