When it rains, the Earth is cleansing herself. You can imagine invisible toxicities removed from the air. The rain brings a quiet template of relaxation and comfort. It allows people to feel peace, in the midst of whatever chaos is surrounding them. Being inside, there is a natural coziness, arising. Rainy days feels as if someone has draped a natural blanket across one’s living quarters. Its a physical, mental, and emotional cleansing.
In other writings, it had been mentioned in how rainy days have been synonymous with sorrow and pain. People have become depressed when the rain comes. The question is, why? Is not water an element of life? Is it not a source of life? And, isn’t water not the majority of Earth’s covering? So, what is there to fear?
Perhaps, our fear of water lays in the fact, that we do not understand it. That we have not appreciated the life-saving sources of water. Maybe, our lack of appreciation for this phenomenon does not allow us to see how we are being comforted with peace. It quiets us, stops us, and gets us to reflect upon our present lives. Water is soothing. Its nurturing. It gives us that opportunity to re-group and re-claim anything that we have lost on our personal journeys and tracks. Any missteps we have taken, when it comes to our daily work lives, is part of the beauty of re-claiming when it rains. Rain gives us the opportunity for internal meditation. It amplifies the joys of being, inside. The nourishment of being inside our residential interiors. That warmth is elevated.
The richness of the rain is symbolic of our ability to nurture whatever dreams and work we have envisioned for ourselves. Water allows Earth’s vegetation to grow. It is the birthing of fruition. It means that during our rainy days, we can use our inside time to water whatever projects are trying to flourish. Its phenomenal. During a rainy day is when we can explore our creativity and creative methods. Water gives us the opportunity to nourish our talents and develop them, further. Only in stillness can we become quiet. When we are quiet, we are able to hear things we were never able to hear before. This secret world of our existence. This special world, which allows us to re-discover who we are OR re-claim who we are.
The rain is beautiful! Rain allows for re-grouping. The right kind of coffee or tea makes such days even more soothing. Another fascinating endeavor is how one appreciates the comfort of being inside. Certain parts of your home, you may have never found to be of comfort and ease. Nevertheless, a rainy day has the ability to bring light to these invisible spaces. In this regard, we are able to witness just how delicate and magical our interior spaces truly are.
On another plane, listening in silence should not mean that we go into sorrow. Clearly, there is a stigma and taboo within urban populations, that the rain is a time of misery and despair. In actuality, that is far from true. Perhaps, in areas not filled with chaos, and a desire to always be on the go, is there more appreciation for a rainy day. Those rural communities, or residential areas where nature is often appreciated, seems to be a remedy for those human beings truly connected with their natural element. Maybe that’s the answer. Maybe appreciation for water is the difference between those who are comforted by a rainy day, and those who are not.
Journaling is one way of keeping track of those rainy days. Coffee or tea is another. And then, there are those moments where snuggling under the covers and reading a good book comes into play. Rain allows you to enjoy those precious moments, even more. Rain makes them that more sentimental and that more, profound. Feeling ever more protected by your living spaces, upon hearing the tiny thuds of water, tapping on the rooftop. We come to appreciate our own natural decor, evermore!
In another writing, it was mentioned prior that rainy days bring forth an element of calm. Even when gravitational forces bring them with a hardened touch. They are still part of the process in allowing us to re-enter ourselves. Lavishing ourselves in the spirit of calm. On days when the rain is safe, adventurous Beings have the power to go out into the wildness of nature and get soaked by the rain. I’m sure that those particular times are filled with a re-connection to the Earth, and with our natural way of experiencing joy and abundance in the rain. Its a method of disconnecting ourselves from any elements of sorrow.
And for those of us, choosing to stay inside on those fantastical days, when nature decides to water herself, is how we re-claim any missteps, occuring in our lives. Its almost as if the rain is washing away those past shortcomings. Those past times, when we found ourselves, out of step and out of sync with what was going on. When the hectic life of work and adult responsibilities had us stumbling out of our natural rhythm. Spiraling out of control and going into a state of emotional and mental dizziness is connected to our imbalance. Nevertheless, when its said and done, nature always restores and re-shapes our natural Being. The Earth never rains solely for her own benefit, alone. It is also for the re-centering of all the Beings, living in her Being.
Another less talked about factor is how rainy days lure us go into our own thoughts. Our inner thoughts. Our deepest fears are revealed. Some of our most secret desires are explored. Even our greatest ideas arise when it is raining. We come to terms with the reality of who we are. That’s if we decide to be honest about that reality. If we choose to write on a rainy day, its as if we are throwing any secrets or worries into the rain. Never to bring torment or pain to us again. This form of healing with rainy days gives us the serenity of re-claiming our happiness.
Lastly, there is nothing greater than using rainy days as a way of increasing the love within our homes. Whether its family, friends, romantic partners, or neighbors. When it rains we are able to get closer to what really matters in life. That pertains to bonding with people. Our connection to humanity is what permits us to view the treasures of a rainy day.
The next day of rain that comes is an opportunity to re-center and re-group. Its a way for us to re-define rainy days as spaces of personal re-newal. Happiness and joy are found again. Getting back in alignment with our natural way. Allowing water’s nourishment to be magical, and rain the way!
