The Power of Forgiveness with Laura Avolese #thriveglobal #livingfearlessly

As an avid supporter, and staunch empowerer of ALL individuals – those who are from ALL walks of life, and for whom have shouldered the plethora of trials and tribulations (individually and/or collectively) endured…I have come to respectfully honour each person’s pain being significantly relevant, and not something to be minimized, negated, dismissed or to ever be compared to another person’s pain, irrespective of the optics standpoint alone; perhaps suggesting that someone else may appear to have had it worse. I have learned to appreciate each person’s circumstances being as unique as the person they themselves are, and for the ways in which they choose to navigate the tumultuous path of their own healing journey.

Having said all that, and while holding true to my expressed sentiments in the aforementioned, I will however, go on #ThriveGlobal Feature Article record for all my previously written pieces, as saying that LAURA AVOLESE will forever occupy an even extra special place within my heart! Once you yourselves, hear the sheer rawness, which Laura so courageously shared with the global loyal listeners and the podcast subscribers via my interview with her (enclosed in the podcast link) on Living Fearlessly with Lisa McDonald, I guarantee you that not only will you be in complete of her and her indomitable spirit, but it will have you re-evaluating your own relationship with the imperativeness of…FORGIVENESS!

We all know what it feels like to have been on the receiving end of hurt and pain,..to have been short changed or done wrong by another human being, or railroaded by a jaw-dropping, life transforming event in our lives, which has propelled us in the direction of either contemplating forgiveness, providing forgiveness, inviting forgiveness or even offering our own necessary apologies. Depending on each person’s own soul work or lack thereof; forgiveness in and of itself is either the hardest or the easiest thing in which to simultaneously surrender and embrace.

Forgiveness is the gift we give ourselves even if not forthcoming in the way of a tangible apology, changed behaviour, atonement or genuine remorse expressed by any other external party. Often times, we are catapulted into the position of having to seek our own closure; necessitated for what we innately know to be in our overall best interest…to be for our own spiritual benefit…for our own peace of mind…for our own need to move upwards and onwards in a forward facing direction. Dwelling upon circumstances we cannot reverse, change, undo nor have any tangible control over, does not therefore need to remain all-consuming or mentally debilitating. Incessantly holding on to what can cripple and paralyze us (it is a choice) is what impedes our ability to move forward in strength, empowerment, healing, intuitive growth and development of self.

For Laura as a young child to have endured the double travesty of her Dad having murdered her mother in cold blood, this would be reason enough and cause alone for anyone’s psyche and human spirit; let alone Laura’s herself, to have obliterated any potential possibility for establishing a so-called ‘normal’ life. Laura has suffered a multitude of heart-wrenching experiences in addition to the glaringly obvious one, and yet she refused to allow any or all of these life events to define her or be a precursor for her future outcome. Laura has had much to forgive throughout the course of her life. She has elected to do so for herself and for her own emotional, spiritual, and psychological well-being, first and foremost. Being the intuitive woman Laura so innately is, she recognized that the most important relationship she would ever have is the one she shares with herself. This level of self-awareness and self-love is in fact what made possible for Laura – the notion of forgiveness toward others; to be even remotely possible. Laura has embraced forgiving what many would deem to be as utterly unforgivable. JUST WOW!

Laura has gone on to accomplish one spectacular milestone right after another; each within the profound laundry list of achievements in her tireless pursuit of uplifting and empowering others. She has done so with grace, humility, passion, vigor, and with a solid foundation for knowing her well-deserved place in life, and for her well-defined purpose in this world. She is a beacon of light amidst much of the darkness she has had to confront and overcome. No easy feat, which I believe is Laura’s greatest defining character trait, superpower, and her most outstanding (forevermore) achievement – embracing the lightness, and the brightness while refusing to allow herself to become permanently enveloped and banished by the darkness. What a true WARRIOR you are, Laura! Such an honour and a privilege to have crossed paths with you our friend. More important than the fact that I will never forget your story; I will more so always remember and hold dear to my heart – the gift of YOU! Thank you for rising, Laura! Thank you for showing up for yourself, and in choosing to do so, you have bravely shown up for so many others whose lives have instrumentally and profoundly been shifted by the impact of…YOU! You have my unwavering and lifelong respect, Laura! Truth!

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
