Today we will dive into education and how we need to redefine our mindset on the matter in order to move forward together.
Fiction -> We Should Blame Our Education System For Starving Our Growth and Freedom
Fake News-> Our minds are trained to think that education stops when we check a box
Fact-> Education Begins at The End of Your Comfort Zone and After You Check Boxes
I had Victoria Marie on my podcast to discuss her journey from leaving the U.S Education system to thriving in an opportunity in Jordan and Israel. We discuss how education has allowed us to take calculated risks and use uncomfort as a tool for growth that has contributed to our fulfilling journey and where we are today. One of the main themes that continues to come up in my podcast is the limitations of what we can do in our current situation with freedom and growing.
Education is a process of learning and growing that makes the journey fulfilling every single minute of the day. Education is the key to being able to be free and create happiness and fulfillment for ourselves and others. By internally creating a mindset that education stopped once I did my homework, got good grades, and graduated, I created a toxic mindset that enslaved myself to pleasing other people, focusing on the next destination, being comfortable, and fearing failure. Because I tricked myself into thinking I was “crushing it”, the positive external signals stagnated my motivation, growth, and hid the leash under which my freedom was enslaved under. I wasn’t mentally and physically healthy at the time and I was completely on Auto-Pilot drifting away from myself.
Education has allowed me to overcome the severity of food allergies. Education is the foundation of all of our accomplishments up until today and will continue to drive our successes in the future. Education is what gives me purpose and drive to wake up every morning. Education represents hope for tomorrow. Education has allowed me to create my own happiness, challenge myself beyond limits, and inspire others to live every day with appreciation, joy, and purpose.
How Can We Take Action?
Do Something Different. Meet New People. Learn a New Activity.
Exploring Education beyond the walls of a school or corporation will provide you with a safety net for going after your dreams and allow you to fail freely. There is no question you will fail and make mistakes, but by constantly improving yourself you will gain perspective, get closer to finding your purpose, and enrich your self-awareness.
The truth is that we are freer than you can ever imagine when we change our mindset to scarcity to abundance of opportunities and beautiful people that surround us. Checking the boxes and paying the bills are mandatory to become physically and mentally healthy, but the in between checking boxes time is going to define whether you are going to move backwards or forwards on your summit to your own mountain. They are critical to helping you find your purpose. When you are in school or in your job, it is quite important to give it 120% dedication each day. But in order to reach your full potential and live a life of no regrets, education needs to start after you checking box rather than stunting your growth as being an end.
The Solution is to shift your free time to get out of your comfort zone rather than take the easy option and engage in screens and substances. It will be the scariest, most fulfilling decision of your life.
Learning from mistakes and failures and adding it to your bank of experiences is the only way to unlock your full potential as a person in order to do better to be yourself and lead more fulfilling life.
