Nurturing Yourself In Nature Translates To Bliss In These Outdoor Showers

Rejuvenating in the luxurious outdoors.

Rosas & Xocolate Mérida, Mexico

When lush environments pair with eye candy, the senses are captivated. When you add the feeling of rain water rinsing your skin among a fresh air embrace, it is pure heaven. I will never forget my first outdoor shower experience. My private island cottage was complete with an open air shower, offering views of sailboats floating across the water, palm trees swaying in the wind, nature’s breeze kissing my skin, and the chirping of the birds harmonizing with my iPod.

For me an outdoor shower is a place of hygge, a Danish word denoting the essence of feeling a warm glow from the inside out. A place inviting a cozy, gracious atmosphere. It is the freeing of riding a Harley through a canyon as the leaves show signs of Autumn, or driving the coast in a red convertible while ocean waves embrace the sand. It is an intoxicating stillness and peace, that hugs your soul and keeps you returning for nature’s embrace. Many venture into nature seeking guidance or solace, yet few have felt the unique cleansing restoration of rinsing your body in the luxurious outdoors.

Refreshing all of the senses, it nourishes your brain with meditating vibes that stimulate the feel good emotions. It is an experience that can’t be explained, yet well worth the upgrade when you have the opportunity while traveling.

It’s been a few months since my last splash outdoors, and such as cloud surfing, it is time for a rinse. Soon, my body will get to feel the rays of the Bali sun touch my shoulders as I rejuvenate my being, but until then I share with you my favorite must visit outdoor shower/baths:

Rosas & Xocolate– Sip wine while you soak in the Roman tub underneath the stars that light up the 2017 Cultural Capital of the Americas, Mérida, Mexico. It is one of the most perfect places to reclaim the innocence of your personal time. Rosas & Xocolate is a luxury boutique hotel located in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. http://www.rosasandxocolate.com/

La Luna– Viewing the magic of passing sailboats and feeling the soft breeze coming from the sea is the perfect entry to an open-air shower. The partially enclosed so it provides privacy, yet it will have you yearning for more. This perfect Balinese inspired luxury resort is located on the island of Grenada, in the Caribbean. http://www.laluna.com

La Luna, Grenada

Luxury Cabin — Cashiers, North Carolina — The view alone is worth the stay in this stunning, rustic cabin located within a gated community in Sapphire North Carolina, approximately ten minutes from Cashiers. The fresh Smoky Mountain air and expansive ridge line serenity is calming in this place where the mountains kiss the sky — https://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g49513-d2453361-Luxury_Rustic_Cabin_with_SPECTACULAR_View-Sapphire_Jackson_County_North_Carolina.html

Private Catamaran in the Virgin Islands — This is magical. After a day sunbathing or splashing in the salt water, there is truly nothing better than rinsing your sea massaged body with fresh water on the back of a private chartered boat as you refresh for happy hour. Looking into the beach versus out to the ocean is spectacular.

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

Club de Patos, Sisal, Yucatán, Mexico — The Club de Patos is a beachfront hotel located a short distance from the charming fishing village of Sisal. With only nine suites, each has a private terrace with a hammock and … an outdoor shower overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The outdoor shower is perfect to refresh after a day in Sisal eating fried octopus ceviche and having an ice cold cerveza, and you may even be treated to a pink flamingo fly over. http://www.clubdepatos.com

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
