Top 5 Barriers to Growth
In Full disclosure, the author gifted me with the book and asked that I read. I ask how many pages is the book as my reading list is long with new arrivals for the coming year. When the author responded that it was 75 pages and similar to, “The Four Agreements” I acquiesced.
First, when I read the first few paragraphs, I wanted to know more about the author. What are the credentials behind some of the bold statements? I quickly paged to the back of the book only to find two references to well-known self-help authors.
What I liked about the book was that at the end of each chapter, there was a survey to evaluate where you were personally on the “growth challenge. ” In fairness to the author, there are many good suggestions in the book; however, the self-help book space is very crowded – there is nothing new here. I usually expect a great synthesis in conclusion – that was not here either. Nevertheless, if you need something to read to get you started with setting and executing goals in the new year, this is a quick read…warning– from this reader’s perspective, it is not in the same category as “The Four Agreements.”
