I’ve been thinking about writing an article about book recommendations since 2013, so here we go finally
Although this may seem like an easy task, it isn’t for me for multiple reasons.
First, I don’t read as much as I used to because last 3 years I haven’t found much new information in the books anymore. (I’ve read extensively since I was 10 years old).
Second, some of the books I like the best may be considered to be strange or “too much.” Thus, I’ve found a gold middle way and share with you 5 books that can shift your perception (a lot) if you allow it but aren’t “too much” (I believe).
If you’ve been following me for a while you may know that I love this book. It has inspired me and helped me to grow in many ways.
A Course in Miracles is a metaphysical book that has been channeled by Helen Schucman. The book has 3 sections – the text, daily exercises (365), and manual for teachers.
I’d describe it as a self-study material that changes the way you think. It helps you to see through the ego tricks in the form of fears and illusions.
It’s called A Course In Miracles because the miracle is a shift in perception from the fear to love.
Whenever we choose to listen to the fear, we create our own illusions that keep us captive in the prison of our thinking. Based on these illusions we also create our reality.
The book uses Christian vocabulary as it was dictated to Helen by Jesus. Now, you can think this sounds strange but give it a try and start reading. Soon, you understand that this is not an ordinary book.
If this book feels too heavy for you to read (it’s not a quick read), you can read the main principles in my book Become the CEO of Your Mind: Overcome Ego, Illusions, and Fears.
Either way, I believe that if you feel called to read the principles of A Course In Miracles, it’ll change your life. It will shift your perception just as it did for me.
This is another favorite book that I like to return to sometimes. The main message of the book is that when we live in the question, we open ourselves up to more possibilities.
On the other hand, when we stay in conclusion (by judging or saying things like: It’s like this, I can’t do it, I don’t know how etc.), we stay in the world of limited options.
I like this book because it opens us to more awareness and helps to see things from a lighter perspective. This book will also make you more conscious of the way you think and talk.
From my perspective, this is a must-read book for any woman. Clarissa uses the power of myths to explain archetype of a wild woman and many others.
It takes you on a journey of self-exploration and points out the ways where we, as women, give our power away.
There is a wild woman in all of us and now is the time to step into our power and take leadership over our mind and life.
“Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. Her name is Wild Woman, but she is an endangered species. Though the gifts of wildish nature come to us at birth, society’s attempt to ‘civilize’ us into rigid roles has plundered this treasure, and muffled deep, life-giving messages of our own souls. Without Wild Woman, we become overdomesticated, fearful, uncreative, trapped.”
– Clarissa Pinkola Estés
Everyone should read this book. On just a few pages, Don Miguel Ruiz explains why we suffer and create drama in relationships.
He talks about the conditioning and the ways we create dysfunctional patterns based on our beliefs.
It’s not the love that is painful; it’s our ego and old wounds.
This book is primarily for women, and it talks about our relationship to power. After interviewing hundreds of best-paid women in the US, Barbara Stanny has discovered that it’s about stepping into the power.
Barbara finds out that problems with money aren’t related to money itself but instead power. The Sacred Success is also inspired by A Course In Miracles, and I believe that it’s worth for any woman to read.
I hope that you’ve found some inspiration in these 5 book recommendations!
