Happy Yoga Day. A mirror can be a great inspiration for meditation.

Mirror is always constant, it never absorbs things or get attached to any object. Everything is imposed on it. It shows things as they are. But mirror fogs up at times, it doesn’t mean that it has lost Its property, once the fog disappears we can use it again to see things as they are. We enjoy using mirror because it can’t manipulate, it can’t lie or change. It is not judgemental like us, it only acts like a true observer.

We all have a mirror like never changing base within us. Like mirror our peaceful state within us also becomes foggy few times, it fogs up with daily disturbances. We forget our true peaceful nature and we identify ourselves more with fog of variety of mental issues.

Instead living like an observer without absorbing it like mirror we get attached to those fog of mental issues, and becomes a slave of it, which eventually effects our mental and physical health.

Meditation practise can cleanse the fog on the mirror like never changing peaceful state within us. Once it clears up then we can see things clearly and be like an observer with detached mind though it looks like attached.

This gives the power to live in present with less friction.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
