The ability a caterpillar has to go through the process of metamorphosis and become a butterfly is truly amazing. What is even more interesting is something I read recently when I was looking up their ability to complete this process. I found out that within them there is something called imaginal discs. “When a caterpillar is still developing inside its egg, it grows an imaginal disc for each of the adult body parts it will need as a mature butterfly… Some caterpillars walk around with tiny rudimentary wings tucked inside their bodies, though you would never know it by looking at them”. These imaginal discs in the caterpillar will become parts of the butterfly, such as the wings, antennae, legs, and eyes (see full article here).

What a truly incredible feat! But what the heck does this have to do with us?

Humans have imaginal discs that lay dormant until we are ready to proceed through the process of metamorphosis and step into being the person that we are meant to and supposed to be. For humans, our imaginal discs are our gifts, talents, skills, abilities, passions, and interests. These are our imaginal discs that we are born with and/or develop through our lifetime. They are waiting to be released into the world. They want to be shared with the world. They are meant to become a part of our everyday lives. However, sometimes these gifts remain dormant for decades or even a lifetime and a person never transforms into the person they are meant to be.

There are many great people out there who are trying to assist and guide people to recognizing the gifts they possess so they can transform and become the person they are meant to be. I am one of those people. It is my mission to ensure you become the ‘butterfly’ you are meant to be in your life.

We are on a mission on earth, and that is, as always, to Strive To Optimize!
