Yessenia Cossio

Getting ahead. Winning the race. Earning the highest income. All of that is possible when you become a top performer.

Being “the best” is a goal that many aspire to. But what does it mean to be “the best”? Growing up in the world of competition can make “the best” seem like the highest number between one and ten. Many view “the best” as something that can only be attained by certain people. This however is not true. “The best” is completely up to YOU.

Stunt performing became a profession in 1903 when Frank Hanaway wowed the public with his ability to fall off a horse and take no damage. Since then, stunts have only grown more significant and more daring, and with the advancement of digital editing in film, the stunts that films need are at an all-time high of extraordinary. Yessenia Cossio is an actor and professional stunt performer who takes great pride in her work.

Even as a child, the stunt performer knew that simply existing in the world was not enough. She had to make a difference, leave a mark in the world, and let it be known that a Yessenia Cossio existed and thrived in it. “[My mother] would tell me that with hard work, patience, determination, and a humble heart, anything was possible,” Yessenia says, recalling a conversation with her and her mother. “And so I approached my life in that same manner.”

Her hard work and determination did pay off. The countless hours she spent in the corporate world, preparing to launch herself in a career that would be entirely hers, now seem like nothing compared to the insurmountable success she enjoys as an actor, parkour athlete, and stunt performer. Having established herself as a major contender in a male-dominated industry, she hopes to inspire many with her journey. Particularly, she hopes to reignite the embers of passion in people who may be losing the spark for their dreams.

Despite the challenges and dangers that come with stunt performance, Yessenia Cossio will keep doing it for as long as her body will allow her to. Alongside her stunt work, Yessenia is also a philanthropist.
