Meet Glenn Bartifay And How He Manages His Daily Life

Glenn Bartifay is a devout Christian and he shares how he deals with daily encounters

Thrive Global: What gives you energy?

Glenn Bartifay: Praying, going to church, and reading the Bible definitely keeps my spirits up.  I also really look forward to exercising after work. My office is very close to a running and biking trail, and I try to take advantage of that whenever possible.

TG: What's your secret life hack?

GB: My secret life hack is praying.  That seems to keep me motivated and focused on the right objectives.

TG: Name a book that changed your life.

GB: The Bible – I’ve read the Old Testament twice and the New Testament around ten times.  It always seems new and really keeps me on the right tract.

TG: Tell us about your relationship with your phone. Does it sleep with you?

GB: I often have my phone, but there’s also a time where I feel it’s important to unplug. That’s when I’m sleeping, praying, exercising, or spending time with my family.

TG: How do you deal with email?

GB: I have specific times during the day where I address emails, and I try to keep everything as organized as possible.

TG: You unexpectedly find 15 minutes in your day, what do you do with it?

GB: Try to catch up on work mainly.

TG: When was the last time you felt burned out and why?

GB: I don’t really feel burned out.  If I did,I would pray or take a run to lift my energy level.

TG: When was the last time you felt you failed and how did you overcome it?

GB: Failure is definitely a part of life.  I try to learn from failure and do better with the next opportunity.

TG: Share a quote that you love and that gives you strength or peace.

GB:Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Romans 12:11.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
