As an individual who is always searching for ways to better himself, I came across Daniel Nissan when I was watching a new entrepreneurship video on the YouTube channel Valuetainment titled ‘21 Year Old Entrepreneur Lands $250k Sale.’ After watching the video and being inspired by the value Daniel had to offer, I decided to reach out to him for an interview. I asked Daniel few questions about his journey and I am glad to share it with you.
Q: How did you get started and what or who inspired and empowered you to?
I always loved selling. I could sell anything and be beyond happy with what I do. I wanted to sell a lot of something and sell something that people will buy continuously, so I decided to sell plates and glassware to restaurants and catering halls because if the products break due to normal use; eventually the products will break and need to be replaced. I always wanted to do something in a big scale in my life. I was self motivated right from high school.
I sent one shoe in the mail to potential customers I would like to sell to with a hand written note saying something along the lines of I would like to have the opportunity to meet with you and discuss potential business we can do together. The shoe in the box represents that I have gotten one foot in the door. Please meet with me, so I can get my second foot in the door as well. I hope you appreciate my creativity and sense of humor. This method opened a lot of doors for me.
3. What is your definition of success?
To me, success is how high you bounce after you’ve hit rock bottom.
Q: What do you think is the main reason why some people face failure when going after their vision?
Anyone who ever became successful failed more times than most unsuccessful people have ever tried. Some people give up too quickly when things don’t go their way and end up working for the 3% of people who never gave up.
Hang out with people who are better than you because you are the average of the 5 people you hang out the most with. When I was a freshman in college, I had 100 friends I could go to the bars with and drink and party, but I had no friends who I could do business with, so I changed my circle. I had friends who were planning for the weekend, while I was planning for the next 3 generations.
