One of the adventures in the travel industry is the lands that one comes across. Yes-Land! Seeing the beauties of land, and just how diverse landscapes are. How colorful and breathtaking one can imagine themselves; as part of Earth’s different sculptures. You feel part of the creative process, in itself.

When water maidens travel,

how far do they go?

Do their footsteps touch the world,

no one really knows.

When water maidens travel,

what ventures are truly gold?

Are many truly fickled?

Or left with tales, untold

It’s part of woman’s healing,

the delicacies of love

the tales of Soulful healing,

for future tales a hove

Those women of the water,

showered in colorful bliss

Foretell comings of future Maidens,

through love in times of kiss

The position of a travel ambassador has more depth than its actual title. When a Maiden takes on the title, she symbolizes the pattern of movement in her nation. For women reflect the patterns of movement, in their nation. How the landscapes of their nation are mirrors of their talk, walk, dance, their style, song, and culinary. In their natural state, Maidens produce love, restore harmony, embrace the Feminine, and use their womanhood for the development (and growth) of their people. Wherever they travel, they are presenting their cultural traditions. They are also creating a link among women of the different nations they travel.

Seeing the photos, and being introduced to Maldivian Maiden, Mariyam Shaghaf, I was illuminated by her energy. As she highlighted, and captured, her presence in the nations she traveled to; you can’t help, but notice, a chameleon persona about her. In every setting, backdrop, body of water, rural and urban spacing she has touched, it’s just amazing how she. . .fits in! When she doesn’t match, she finds a way to-match in! The backdrop, and where she chooses to fit in, speaks tales of her perseverance to make harmony happen with foreign, and familiar, surroundings of nature.

Adding more variety to the travel mix, is the exquisite fashion sense of Mariyam Shaghaf. Fashion and nature DO MIX! For some, nature brings out the depth of fashion. When fashion, and style, is watered in nature and Universal appeal, it is no longer a commodity (or relegated to an industry). It can no longer be a token of expensive decor for the fashionably sheek; or those living lives of being able to afford the comfort of such luxury.

On the contrary, fashion takes on a character, which is tuned in with the natural style, design, and fashion changes of the Earth. Those who are truly engaged with the natural styles and trends of Earthly, fashion decor; automatically blend in with the natural trends and surroundings. One must see this, with this exuberant, Maldivian Maiden.

The adventures of this Maldivian Dame leaves clues into the wonders of her islands-the islands of Maldives. What tune have they taught her? What tongue dances to her authentic, cultural beat? How do other Maidens and Mothers, of her islands, reflect their own Earthly, fashion sense? Their sense of womanhood. Their fashion of culture. Leaving footprints across the Earth, for those to follow; following her back to her Maldivian islands. For there, awaits the origins of her fashionable existence.

Fruits of Maldivian breezes awaits the eyes of curious Beings. Foreign, travel maidens seeking to be entertained in the gardens of different, cultural maidens. The scent of the air; colors of the vegetation; whispers of the tongue; and the imprints of memory. How delightful and endearing for imagination to take place on a land of many lands; resting in the shores of waters to come.

The initial coming of Habeys Boduberu to Cairo, for the 2016 Message of Peace Concert Series, was my initial introduction of these lands. Being introduced to Mariyam Shaghaf, secured a venture, there. To be entertained, and in the tranquility and comfort of Maldivian Maidens! Their laughter. Their care. Their sense of LOVE for the culture and rules of womanhood. How they care for each other, and those visiting Maidens, who seek their presence. One of the visual paintings of the intimacies of Sisterhood and harmonic melodies.

Mariyam Shaghaf’s duty as a Maldivian fashion and style ambassador, is a revitalization of the fashion movement. All too often, fashion is used as an external covering; masking shortcomings, insecurities, and secrets. Fashion is frequently used to give value to one’s overall existence. A price-tag in the realist sense. Yet, there are those Maidens and women, who bring value to fashion. Wearing and tending to them, as artistic tools, to highlight them as intrinsic elements in a painting. When added with travel, they serve as a chameleon character; allowing women (and men) to connect with the persona, energy, and feminine presence of different lands.

Beautifully-spirited women bring vibrancy to clothing. Their kindness, light, and loyalty to the Feminine, allows them to illuminate the realms of style and fashion. Their movement throughout Earth’s planes demonstrates just how metamorphic fashion can be. Furthermore, the realms of travel and fashion showcases the different shapes, colors, characters, and humanity of every woman when she embraces the artistry of movement. Such are the lessons of one Maiden, from a series of travel sculptures called. . .Maldives!
