Love Always Wins with Jon Park-Wheeler #LivingFearlessly with Lisa McDonald

It has been a long time coming, in which to have showcased Jon Park-Wheeler on the Living Fearlessly with Lisa McDonald global radio/podcast show, in addition to here with all of you on Thrive Global! Long overdue in fact, given Jon’s long standing loyalty, and consistent support of me both personally and professionally!

Although Jon and I have never before met in the physical or tangible sense, he has been an ongoing beacon of light to myself and to others, who also graciously follow me on my various social media pages, my global radio platforms, and who have also generously subscribed to my weekly Saturday newsletter piece (content not otherwise published anywhere else.) For approximately five years, Jon has not only publicly championed, encouraged and inspired myself – he has done so for a plethora of others of whom he has also chosen to synergistically align himself with via my platforms! This lovely human being has continuously shared my content with his own inner circles – has purchased all of my books, has offered reviews, feedback, testimonials, endorsements, and the list is truly endless!

Jon is one of the most introspective, thoughtful, articulate, kind-hearted, and well-versed individuals of whom I have ever had the pleasure and the honour to know. The inner beauty of Jon’s soul shines through in his masterfully crafted music, his brilliant mind, and even in his on-par, never-misses-a-beat, twisted humour! Jon never shies away from an opportunity to positively uplift others or to inspirationally remind people of the greatness that lies within each of them, particularly when they are emotionally struggling or feeling down-trodden.

For someone who is as actively busy as Jon habitually is, and who has to regularly be in the zone for his creative song-writing and album-producing, while also being present for his students/clients…Jon, however, is never too busy to have a pulse on how others in his tribe are genuinely doing in their day-to-day lives! He checks in both personally and publicly, while always expressing his wholehearted gratitude to those whose friendships mean the most to him.

Jon is openly forthcoming with his expressive gratitude toward me for the ways in which he believes I have been pivotal and instrumental in his daily life and yet, it is Jon, who in too many immeasurable ways to count or to accurately keep track of, whom has been precisely that to me over these past years! I suppose this is another example of the mirroring effect – another example of vibe attracting tribe – another example of my staunch belief in there never being coincidences in life – only synchronicities and universal alignment!

Not unlike the rest of us, Jon has certainly had his own fair share of lifetime hardships and adversity in which to contend with. So as to remind people that they are not alone in whatever it is they too are uniquely experiencing in their own lives, Jon has very publicly used my platforms; allowing people a window to glimpse his own trials and tribulations. Jon deeply resonates and genuinely connects with others at the heart level as a result of both his willingness, and his ability to share with others in their mutual vulnerability. Like me, Jon, has remained steadfast in his pursuit of choosing to rise in his life, and to not allow himself to be defined nor railroaded by unfortunate or painful circumstances, which are oftentimes out of our personal control. Instead, Jon uses the life-learned lessons, and proceeds to beautifully infuse it into his musical composition. After all, isn’t this what all creatives feel compelled to do through the vessels of their work, and for the purpose of trying to make this world a saner and brighter place to be? Cathartic healing at its very best!

On behalf of both Jon and myself, we wish to thank you for kindly taking the time out of your own hectic schedules so as to read this feature article, as well as for generously listening to our beautiful radio interview together via the enclosed podcast link, and also for any additional contact you may wish to initiate with either or both of us outside of this amazing Thrive Global Forum!

Jon, from the centre of my heart, and with every fibre of my being, I wish to publicly thank you once again our friend, for being exactly as you are! Your light is forever bright, and I for one, could not be more grateful to you for the countless ways in which you have personally enriched, and have deeply enhanced my life. I am truly a better person for knowing you! Thank you!

Uplifting You To Fear Less And To Live More!

Be your own Hero. Be your own Shero.
Be your own Leader. Be your own Best Friend!

Jon Park-Wheeler was born in Ottawa, Ontario at some point in the previous millennium, and declines to be more specific on the topic. Carbon-14 dating performed on mustache clippings, however, reveals his date of birth to be sometime after the invention of the alphabet, and sometime before the invention of the emoji, which seems to be replacing the alphabet. He cannot remember a time in his life when he did not play music. (This means that either he has been playing forever, or has a faulty memory. We choose to endorse the former, without ruling out the latter entirely.)

Like most children of his era, Jon was dragged kicking and screaming to piano lessons when he was barely out of diapers, and in spite of himself acquired the rudiments of music. Jon was drawn to the guitar when the Beatles led the British Invasion of music into North America, and has been working at playing the instrument for the last 55 years. And so the die was cast.

During an academic career noteworthy only for its utter lack of noteworthiness, Jon realized he was destined for a career in music (much to the consternation of his parents, who felt that his talents were better suited to sign-painting or clerical work. They may have been right.) The years since then have been a whirlwind of performing throughout Canada, from coast to coast to coast, and as far abroad as Europe and Australia. The last twenty years have seen a steadily growing studio career, first as a musician, and for the last decade as a producer/arranger/songwriter as well.

The styles of music Jon has recorded and produced range from Country to Gospel, Folk to Native, Christmas to Contemporary, and quite a few Children’s recordings in both English and French. As an aspect of his musical career, Jon has appeared frequently on television. There have been five “True North” specials for CBC, multiple appearances on each of Dini Petty, CanadaAM, and “Open Mike” with Mike Bullard. In addition, he has performed on Canada Day on Parliament Hill, worked as a staff guitarist on CTV’s “Spirit of the Country” series, and Dominic D’Arcy’s musical sidekick on the CHRO series, “D’Arcy’s Beat.” In addition, he was the puppeteer behind Fergus on the popular CTV/YTV children’s television show “Marie Soleil” for all one hundred and thirty episodes of its run.

Over the years, Jon has performed live with the following artists on a regular basis: Colin Amey, Susan Aglukark, Tracey Brown, Tom Jackson, Stephanie Beaumont, the Sons of Maxwell, Carroll Baker, the Family Brown, and Tudjaat, to name a few. More recently, having relocated to Eaganville, Ontario in the heart of the Renfrew County, Jon has been performing and recording with BBC & Co, Danah-Lee, and Bailey Rogers.
