Live resistance-free happiness. A lot of times we resist being happy. Reasons of feeling guilty, feeling undeserving, or believing that happiness is not real or possible, keeps us from allowing ourselves to feel good. To let go of any resistance I acknowledge everything and everyone without judgement. From that place I practice acceptance, respect, appreciation, thankfulness, and love for everyone and everything that is in my awareness — shifting myself in a resistance-free space where I am open to experience life fully and freely.
Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, unchallenged, and have nothing to look forward to? It doesn’t have to be that way. One idea that I always advice my clients is the concept of “Stop pushing the pain away and see it as the guide to your life purpose”
As a society, we are hardwired to sit on our tush in a comfortable lethargy. I invite you to start EXPERIENCING your life, rather than observing it, getting used to the uncomfortable and finding the deepest inspirations in your pain. We grow from the dark much more and faster than we do from the light and often our deepest gifts (and the source of our passion, pleasure and joy) are located where it hurts the most. For me, all my trials and tribulations resulted in the most incredible outcome- finding my life purpose and aligning my entire life around it. Once I did that my business took off, my lifestyle changed and, most importantly, I started living a passionate, joyful life. I started TRULY trusting myself. While before I outsourced my reasons for happiness outside of myself to online courses that promised to give me love overnight or make me rich in a click of a button, to gurus that were telling me how to live my life and lead my business, to magical objects or juju, now I use these means as supplementary help, not as my guide as I have found my own internal compass that is never wrong and is ALWAYS working for me.
As a part of our series interviewing experts on how to live a “ravenous life” — a life filled with the passion, pleasure, playfulness and abundance that come naturally to those who dare to be authentic, I had the pleasure of interviewing Jacqueline Pirtle a.k.a FreakyHealer. Jacqueline is an accomplished energy healer, mindfulness & happiness coach, and the bestselling author of 365 Days of Happiness. She has helped hundreds of clients shift into a “high for life” frequency, and as a result their health peaked, success and abundance arrived, and life shifted to be magnificent for them.

Thank you so much for doing this with us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I have enjoyed helping people for a long time, even as a child. Back then I did not really understand what my gift was all about, but along my journey I got to learn what it is and how to use and grow it into what it is today — an energy healing gift.
As for being crazy about happiness, it really started when I was little and was being bullied because of my red hair. I turned inward, created some sort of happiness bubble for me to BE and live in, and nourished my wellbeing and feeling-good by spending a lot of time in there. Little did I know, that was the start of growing my super power that I possess today — my happiness. Later in life, when my bubble over-filled with wellbeing, I started spreading it by making others feel amazing about themselves which made me feel even better. That led me to follow my inspiration to write about happiness every single day, which I did in 2017. I wanted to really study what it is, how it feels, where it comes from, what it means to me and the world on a given day, and how to make it long lasting — based on my belief that everything starts and stops with energy. Those writings started as a blog at first, and after helping many people, turned into my book:

A step-by-step guide to being happy
And I am really excited to say “…and so my journey to help people experience a phenomenal life continues…”
What does it mean for you to live “on purpose”? Can you explain? How can one achieve that?
Living on purpose means to feel good and BE and live the happiest me I can be — no matter what my circumstances are. To me it is my birth-right to feel good, because when I am feeling good, when I am happy, when I am living with “Joie De Vivre,” I experience my body feeling good, my mind thinking good-feeling thoughts, my soul connected, and my consciousness — my NOW — as “Life is going right for me.” That is what I am here to experience in this physical life.
Since we create our NEXT with how we think, see, hear, taste, smell, and feel right NOW, feeling over-the-moon happy right NOW creates an over-the-moon happy NEXT. A very powerful purpose and way to live.
Plus we are all energy, connected, and are sharing our energies with each other, which means if I feel good, I share and spread that goodness with everything and everyone — a phenomenal purpose if you ask me.
You can achieve that purpose by realizing that you ARE happiness and that happiness IS you, that you two are never separate, but always one. Wherever you go happiness is there too, it’s the best package deal ever. So make feeling-good your number one priority!
Do you have an example or story in your own life of how your pain helped to guide you to finding your life’s purpose?
If I experience pain, be it physical or emotional, I always come back to the same conclusion that I am not being and living in my natural state — my happiness. This makes pain a signal that is happening FOR me, not to me. I call it a gift because it is the language of my body and soul, communicating the wisdom and the learning a situation holds for me, like a guide showing me the way and teaching me what to do.
As an example, take a headache. If you hate your headache and want it to go away, not only do you create unhappy feelings in and for you — the opposite of happiness — you also create pressure and resistance in you and towards your headache. But if you acknowledge your headache, then accept, respect, appreciate, thank, and love your headache for what it is — a helpful guidance system for you — then your headache is allowed to BE and you can listen and act on its information — not enough sleep, rest, food, or drink. That way the headache will resolve itself in a loved way and you will have gained more knowledge about yourself. Same goes for emotional pain; acknowledge, accept, respect, appreciate, thank, and love your feelings for what they are — a wonderful guidance for you to let BE, listen, and act on its wisdom.
The United States is currently rated at #18 in the World Happiness Report. Can you share a few reasons why you think the ranking is so low?
I am originally from Switzerland and have lived all over the world. With those experiences of “life” in different places, I can say that there is a real disconnection happening here. People don’t realize that everything and everyone is energy and the same, connected, and sharing their energies with each other at all times. Even the food that enters your body, the bird that sings in your awareness, and the sky that is there for you every single moment, is the same as you — connected and sharing its energies with you. We and everything are all ONE.
How you feel and think affects everything and everyone.
How you see, hear, taste, and smell affects everything and everyone.
How you speak affects everything and everyone.
How you smile and laugh affects everything and everyone.
How you live, nourish, and treat yourself affects everything and everyone.
If you are angry, unkind, a bully, disrespectful, and unforgiving, everyone gets a piece of that energy, and if you are the best happiest you that you can be, you make the world a better place — because everyone gets a piece of that wonderful energy.
No action of yours is ever only affecting you, meaning that you can affect change all by yourself and initiate change for everything and everyone in the world.
As an example:
If you slow down, that peacefulness you create affects others too.
If you listen to the bird singing, that beauty you feel affects others too.
If you connect with your food by being thankful, that gratefulness affects others too.
If you see abundance in all the leaves on the ground, that richness affects others too.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
All my work is about helping people to feel better, to be happier, and to educate and teach them that they are in charge and can BE and live their happiness anywhere at anytime. There is a lot of goodness created with that; for one my clients get healthy, find new jobs, make more money, finally get pregnant, or repair their marriages and relationships with their children, but on a bigger scale that betterment achieved in every single situation affects the whole world by spreading and sharing happiness, connectedness, love, and “Joie De Vivre.”
What are your 6 strategies to help you face your day with exuberance, “Joie De Vivre” and a “ravenous thirst for life”? Can you please give a story or example for each?
1. I commit to BE and live my happiness and choose to feel good
Everything always starts with a commitment. I commit every new day (like a contract) to BE and live my happiness and to feel good above all else.
2. I practice being happy and focus on growing a passion for this artful lifestyle
Every art takes practice, and a lifestyle of happiness is no different. I practice happiness the moment I wake up by saying “This IS already and will BE the best day ever!” During my day I focus on all that is going right for me, and when I close my eyes at night I count my blessings and am grateful for all that was in my day for me. That grows my passion for feeling-good which feeds my commitment to being happy.
3. BE and live it fully and loudly
It is my birth-right to BE and live my happiness. I don’t hold back from feeling amazing and from saying, thinking, hearing, smelling and tasting it — no matter the circumstances. I share it and spread it, and inspire others to do so too.
4. I live a pressure-free happiness
I let go of all expectations about how happiness has to knock on my door because I know that expectations create pressure, and pressure is the opposite of feeling good. Happiness shows up in many ways, shapes, and sizes. My breath is happiness — making my beautiful life possible. My blood pumping through my veins is happiness — keeping me alive. My smile is happiness — spreading “Joie De Vivre” far and wide, and so are my tears — as cleansers of my energy; or my anger — a powerful and forceful energy that I can use to clean my house or wash my car as an amazing push to get things done. As for my wishes and dreams, I vividly visualize and feel them, then go on living as they already are, while living gratefully in my now.
5. I live a resistance-free happiness

6. I create a healthy happiness environment in all of my components — body, mind, soul, and consciousness
Body: Move, move, move. The body is meant to move (of course in fitting ways for you) to stay strong and healthy. My body also needs clean food, so I connect with the food entering my body and ask, “Is this the value I want to nourish my body with?” I celebrate my body with my self-love, drink plenty of water, sleep and rest a lot, and I love focusing on my beautiful breath.
Mind: I make time to stop everything and let my mind “BE.” Sitting on a park bench connecting with nature, or meditating — both do the trick. I practice positive thinking by acknowledging all my thoughts without judgement, the ones that feel good I enjoy and feel them. The ones that don’t feel good, I shift to a better feeling one, for example from “ugly” to “beautiful” and from “not enough” to “abundant.” Practicing this whenever I can makes positive thinking my normal way of thinking.
Soul: Your heart is the home of your soul-being. Creating “heart touching” moments nourishes my heart which nourishes who I really am, my soul. To create these “wow” experiences I consciously feel the water when I drink it, I consciously feel when I hug my loved ones, I consciously hear that bird singing, I consciously play and laugh vividly, and when watching the sunset I consciously feel the sun and its colors — which makes me smile.
Consciousness — my NOW — is where my whole power lays. I constantly focus on what is going right for me right now and feel that very vividly. Not only does that make me feel phenomenal it also creates my next, which naturally is phenomenal too.
Do you have any favorite books, podcasts, or resources that most inspired you to live with a thirst for life?
I always follow and enjoy the works of Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, and Esther Hicks. There is loads of fabulous wisdom and “Joie De Vivre” in anything these thought leaders create.
Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote” that relates to having a Joie De Vivre? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?
“When in doubt choose happiness!”
Anytime I choose happiness, I say “yes” to feeling good, which shifts me to being a better me and shifting my life to “going right for me;” That wonderful energy I share with everyone and everything around me because we are all connected and sharing our energies with each other at all time — all that goodness comes back to me like a boomerang creating even more of it, for me and the world.
Are you working on any exciting new projects now? How do you think that will help people?
I am very excited because I just finished creating the 365 Days of Happiness Program, which is the backbone for my book 365 Days of Happiness. With it, I personally support my readers for a whole year, teaching them to BE and live their happiness — no matter what their circumstances are.
I am also working on my next book, which is super exciting.
And I am always so thrilled to help people live a phenomenal life through my sessions and my monthly retainer program.
You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. :-)
It would be a movement to teach our kids and young people that it is everyone’s birth-right to be happy and to feel good; that they are in charge and have the power to choose “Joie De Vivre” and to be kind; that everything and everyone is energy, the same, connected, and that they are sharing their energies at all time; that they are more than just a physical body, but also a mind, a soul, and consciousness; that they matter and that their actions matter; that they are powerful, beautiful, smart, and loved.
I would want to include these empowerment-teachings in every school. These teachings are based on every single one of us being and living in this physical experience called “life” as one and the same — Happiness.
