During the Great Depression in the early 20th century, one of the very few industries that did not suffer was the entertainment industry. People needed time to recoup, relax, and feel good, in order to cope with the hardship going on around the world at that time. Similarly, with the rise in the individuals’ troubles right now, a little distraction from everyday lives is what people need. As a result, the entertainment industry is one of the most rising platforms, that has experienced the most growth.

The entertainment industry is not only nurturing culture but is giving a chance to the talented ones, promoting creativity. With the increasing impact of the entertainment culture, many individuals have started showing interest in pursuing a career in the industry. Previously, having a career in the artistic field wasn’t considered a ‘real’ profession; nevertheless, with the changing times, there has been an increase in people’s tolerance, making a swift change in thinking.

The life of a person belonging to the entertainment industry is something many individuals dream of living. The profession’s glamour and charm are what’s most attractive; however, there are still a handful of ones who dream of getting into the field based on sheer talent. Among such a few individuals is Lina Cardona, a rising actor, and a well-established model.

1. Passion Churning Dreams

Not all people are born with clear dreams. Sometimes, people come across opportunities in life that make them realize that it is where their passion lies. Lina, similarly, found her true passion later on in life. In 2013, she participated in “Señorita Bogota,” a competition that was not just a national beauty contest but a platform where Lina explored her inner desire to pursue a career in the entertainment field.

Securing the second position in the competition further strengthened her goals, putting a stamp on her belief that this is something that she is meant to do. As she likes to put it: “…it was not a whim of becoming an artist, but after learning about this profession, I was passionate about it, took it as a way of life.”

Lina’s next appearance in the “Colombia’s Next Top Model” was the perfect push she needed for her career. Becoming a finalist in the internationally recognized competition gave Lina a prominent standing in the modeling world. By the end of the contest, Lina had uncountable modeling offers lined up for reputable brands and well-known names. As the “Chica Aguila,” Lina soon left for the country tour, an opportunity that led her to visit numerous parts of the country during festivals and other prominent events and that practically turned her a celebrity overnight.

With a little taste of the entertainment industry, Lina decided to put her acting skills to use and try her luck in the field. After preparing herself by going through the process of several acting workshops, Lina appeared on TV with her debut in the “Bloque de Busqueda.” Her promising acting skills in the TV series was enough for her to land with several other acting offers, an opportunity many people fail to achieve.

2. A Gem To The Industry

With an artist’s noteworthy performances, fame and success follow. In 2017, Lina appeared in the La Nocturna, and La Reina del flow, and El man es Germán in the following years, blowing away the audience with her versatile acting skills.

As a result of her prominent performances on the TV, Lina was soon offered movie roles. With her first movie appearance in ‘Male,’ Lina became the talk of the town. With time, she signed more movies and was frequently seen on the bigger TV. ‘El show de Cejas Pobladas,’ ‘Macho,’ ‘If you know how I get on, why do you invite me?,’ ‘Ugly but Tasty’ and ‘And We Went to the World,’ are some of the performances that made Lina an eminent figure in the acting industry.

Often multitalented artists fail to focus on their several talents at a time, giving their 100% to just one field. Lina, on the other hand, has been managing her acting and modeling career side by side, giving both the fields nothing but the best. For her modeling career, Lina has taken part in multiple TV commercials for distinguished brands and magazines such as Ego, Renault, Aguila Beer, Telmex, and Claro. One of the most successful times for a model are they being the face of notable magazine covers. Lina, with the help of her extraordinary modeling talent and a huge fan following, has appeared on Colombia’s several famous magazines covers such as El Espectador, Q’, Mas Q Ver, Gente Rosa, Boga, and Tv & Novelas, unlocking another potential.

Born in Medellín, Antioquia, Lina was an individual with simple goals. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration and started with her professional career as a commercial manager. But as the saying goes, “what is meant to be will always find its way to you.” Lina has been a live example of a dedicated artist who gives their 100% to whatever they do. With her strong commitment level and a heart full of dreams, Lina has created a loyal fan base that has enabled her to become widely recognized as a successful model and actor.
