Like a Shadow

born female

Like a shadow I watch,

Two others embrace.

These are not lovers,

In the physical sense of the world.

Like a shadow I watch,

My mother and my brother embrace,

She, having never belonged to me,

And he, indisputably hers from the day he was born.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
