Kindness is the Oil of Civilization

Everyone needs to know they matter. Even the un-loved ones.

If kindness or compassion is one of your life values, how do you bring it into your life each day?

With your family? Your colleagues? Animals? Who then?

I believe —

Kindness is the oil that greases the wheels of civilisation
Kindness is seeing the soul in the eyes of the homeless, the bereft

Kindness is understanding beyond just what you see, clothes, behaviour, culture.
Kindness is noticing an unusual silence time stretch from others

Kindness is offering help during sickness — stepping up even when you don’t feel like it

Kindness is being grateful for what you have, and understanding for those who don’t.

Kindness is reflecting before reacting

Kindness is using your best self, always.

For you and for all living beings.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
