Understanding the occasion is equally important as different occasions may need you to-put different strategies in order to achieve your goal.

Build on your credibility

Credibility has to do with your ability to be trusted as a reliable source of information by your audience. To build your credibility, you may have to ensure that you are thorough in your preparations for the occasion. Much time should be allocated to researching as much as possible regarding the points you need to put across. When preparing for a presentation, you may opt to practice in front of the mirror to ensure that you master your art.

Master the cues

Both verbal and nonverbal cues are important in helping you to attract and maintain the attention of the audience. One important verbal cue that you should never forget is the ability to actively engage the audience by using various strategies, such as posing questions. This enables you to bond more with your audience.

Nonverbal cues come in handy in equally helping you to put your message across actively. Your positive body language and facial expressions help to reinforce ideas in a way that they become memorable to the audience.
