In Between

Too foreign for home, too foreign for here

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. How does it feel to be in between?

Here I am

In the middle

Not at home

Not away

From the world

Notions of love

Become lost

Creations of self

Perhaps, become found

Selfless as I was

It’s now time for me

For to be less than self

Is living nothing but a lie

Told abruptly

That things would be fine

Yet, shown clearly

This could not be further away from the truth

For in this space

In between truth and lie

There is weakness

Strength is gained from choosing

Do I chose to follow a lie

Or do I chose to live in truth

For growing up with uncertainly

Will lead to an uncertain life

Unless another path is chosen

Unless another way is accepted

So here you have

A choice to be made

Which do you chose?

Which do I chose?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
