Self-Confidence

Confidence is the state of being certain about something or a certain aspect of a certain task or speech that a person has done or said. Self-confidence is a concept that is commonly used as self-assurance in a person’s judgment, abilities, power, looks, etc. self-confidence comes from mastering any particular task. It helps the person to believe in them and their ability to succeed in specific situations and accomplishing tasks.

Body image is the perception of one’s self with respect to athletics or attractiveness. Body image of a person involves how they see themselves as compared to the standards that have been defined by society. The term was first used by the Austrian neurologist and psychologist Paul Schilder, in his book “the image and appearance of the human body”. The history shows that human society has placed a great deal of emphasis on the value of the human body, but there are many people whose perception of the human body does not conform to the standards that society has set.

The standards that human society has set for us, does not conform to what the majority of the people have, instead it shows the body image that only a few percentages of people can achieve. These unrealistic body standards make people that don’t conform to such standards, be ashamed of themselves and lose their self-confidence.

Losing self-confidence can have many negative impacts on a person, it can cause a person emotional distress, depression, and disappointment. Women are the guiltiest of disliking their current body state. Around 91% of women are unhappy with their body type and from that, around 40% of women have agreed to go through cosmetic surgery for improving their body. There has been so much time and money that was spent on the lack of self-confidence, here are a few ways you can improve your self-confidence through body image.

You may have seen that a person that does not have a great body type, starts to turn heads when they enter the room. That is because they have self-confidence in them. You can start on the same journey by faking it, when you look into the mirror, tell yourself that you are as beautiful as others.
