You’re a Woman CEO!

If you’re a woman entrepreneur, you’re probably excited, to have joined thousands of other ambitious women around the country, in pursuing their dreams of business ownership.

I didn’t know for sure what kind of entrepreneur I would become, but as a girl, I fantasized about running my own law firm. I was fascinated with women attorneys. Little, did I know that one day I would become a therapist in private practice.

According to the American Express, State of the Women-Owned Businesses Report, in 2019, there was a net of 1,817 new women owned businesses registered per day.

When fear takes over

If this is your first time running a business, you may notice that you’re not performing as well as you hoped. You definitely are not operating like the employee-of-the-month.

As a matter of fact, your performance in your won business would probably get you fired!

There is a chance that you will experience doubt, fear and anxiety at some point in your business. It is likely that each time you are being pushed out of your comfort zone, you may have feel stuck or frozen as many women describe.

I would notice that my heart would start beating faster when it was time to promote my business or record a video on social media. I would avoid “selling” and hide from potential business opportunities.

Emotional Signs

  • Persistent worry and fear about making mistakes.
  • Feeling embarrassed to promote yourself/business.
  • Difficulty staying focused, no clarity on your goals.
  • Confusion or frustration about running your business.

Physical Signs

  • Frequently having tense muscles about your business.
  • Tight chest, rapid heartbeat when facing new business challenges.
  • Extremely fatigued when thinking about or working on business.
  • Feeling wired, uptight or on edge about business.
  • Headaches, not explained by a physical diagnosis.

Behavioral Signs

  • Avoiding important tasks, planning or setting deadlines.
  • Making excuses, not being accountable.
  • Procrastination and easily distracted.
  • Difficulty communicating in your business or about your business to potential clients or colleagues.
