I AM…Grateful For Being Grateful!

When faced with the choice of speaking gratitude or showing gratitude - do both! It is a WIN WIN for the collective. A Universal Slam-Dunk for all of Humanity!

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

I could honestly discuss the subject of gratitude at nauseam, and in fact, I regularly and consistently do! Gratitude is the core foundation for which every other aspect of my governing values and principles derives from. I express gratitude in my livestream/vlogging videos, I hashtag Gratitude alongside my brand #LivingFearlessly in every single post I upload to social media. As I am approaching the bottom of the hour in both my TV and Radio/Podcast Interviews with weekly guests, I sign off expressing Love and Gratitude to my loyal listening audience, to the network owners, my guests, and to my show sponsors. I initiate, express and reiterate my wholehearted gratitude to my Team, my clients, my friends, my family, my mentors, my community, and even to those I do not even know in the tangible sphere as I do believe we are all connected – we are all ONE therefore I am genuinely grateful to everyone. As I continue to do ‘The Work,’ on myself with respect to daily self-assessment, self-inventory, self-awareness, and personal growth and development – I continually include those who have perceivably ‘ hurt me’ – to be amongst the roster of those I am equally grateful to, as many of my toughest of lessons learned in life, coupled with my deepend levels of empathy and compassion for others, has originated from my painful experiences in life.

I have always felt more connected to myself, to others, to the Universe, to my purpose on this planet when I am mindful of my many blessings, gifts, and privileges. There is for me, no better way to consistently be cognizant of this than to immerse myself in opportunities, which continue to keep me rooted in what is most important to me in my journey – paying it forward and being of service to others. I am truly excited and grateful that while my children will be spending a portion of the Christmas holidays with their father this year, (his turn) I will be spending Christmas Day with the less fortunate – those who for whatever their reason or circumstance – find themselves without family, a home to go to, an invitation of inclusivity. Sadly – the list of reasons as to why the holidays are especially challenging and heartbreaking for so many – is endless. Life has proven to me each and every single time, that it is virtually impossible to feel sorry for yourself when you volunteer your heart to help others who seemingly have it worse in life. For me, it is the quickest and most reliable method of grasping perspective. I have also made it clear to those who have kindly asked me for gift-giving ideas as to what I might wish to receive under the tree this year, to kindly put the monies they would traditionally wish to spend on me, back into a charity of their choice. Until the gap separating the Haves from the Have-Nots, ceases to exist, I am personally not comfortable being on the receiving end of ‘stuff,’ regardless of how grateful I am for the initial thought/intention.

Although I do believe it a vital practice for one to keep a daily Gratitude Journal – I believe it even more meaningfully profound and monumentally transformational for self and for others when what is written is also exercised, role-modeled, and physically implemented. Authenticity and congruency is always synonymous with the consistency of application – putting words into motion. When faced with the choice of speaking gratitude or showing gratitude – do both! It is a WIN WIN for the collective. A Universal Slam-Dunk for all of Humanity!

I am grateful to every person who has kindly taken the time to read my piece on Gratitude.

Love and Gratitude to ALL!

Uplifting you to fear less and to live more!
