Is the uncertainty getting to you? You’re not alone.

We’re all feeling it.

It’s the anxiety that comes from entire cities shutting down. The fear of the unknown.

Now, here we are, sitting in our homes, wondering what’s next?

And yet, if you look at the situation just rightopportunity lies in adversity. Can you see it?!

Don’t be afraid to take advantage of this unprecedented situation. To remember that what matters most is generally within the walls of your home anyways. And if you play your cards right, you can use it to improve your quality of life in a big way.

Here are three steps to thrive in a stay at home environment.

Step 1: Separate From the Panic

When enough people tell you the roof is on fire, you’re going to run around dumping buckets of water.

It’s not to say we shouldn’t be taking this seriously. We should. Stay home.

But panic, helps no one, and there’s plenty of that going around these days. Don’t be afraid to take a step back from the news and well-meaning friends. Re-center, remove distractions, and remember what matters.

You’ll be able to move forward with a calm heart and a productive mind.

Step 2: Give Yourself Time to Adjust

For many of us, the transition to stay at home is not seamless. I now have my three kids home for the year, and we’re figuring out what school will look like. Both parents are working from home, and that brings different challenges as well.

The changes are real and we must give ourselves grace and time to adjust to them. We will, of course, but it won’t happen in a single day. And that’s ok.

Step 3: Use Your Time Wisely

Congratulations! You’ve now gained an enormous amount of free time! How will you use it?

On endless Netflix shows? Ridiculous YouTube videos?

Instead, consider that this is the best opportunity you may EVER GET to make beautiful family memories, take care of your health, and grow your mind.

Here are just a few activities worth pursuing:

  • Start a garden
  • Learn how to cook healthier
  • Visit nature frequently
  • Begin meditating
  • Invest time in the kids
  • Start a journal
  • Read Personal Growth, Finance, Health, etc. books
  • Workout consistently
  • Declutter and simplify your life

In Conclusion

Worthwhile opportunities are ENDLESS at home.

Months from now, you can look back and think of this time as a gaping hole in your life. OR, you can be proud that you treated each day as the precious gem it is. You seized your time at home and progressed by leaps and bounds.
