Relationships are never easy. But then again, anything worth having in our lives is never meant to be easy.

These days with social media and having instant gratification, people are less open to spending the time it takes to not only find the right person to be with, but to also build a healthy, positive, and meaningful relationship.

Being alone is very important for each person because it allows us to discover who we are. But being lonely can cause a form of depression which over time can be detrimental to ones health.

The secret to a fulfilled and positive life lies in having meaningful relationships like the ones we read about it love stories and poems, (like by Rumi). While these types of relationships might seem “fairy-tale”, with a little love and effort, one can discover that this Earth is actually a heaven where we can fulfill our wildest dreams.

If you want to create a magical relationship with your lover, here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Know Your Self

Before you can enter into a relationship with another person, you must know yourself. Not only must you know what you like and don’t like, but you also must know who you are as a person. How can someone know you if you don’t know yourself? So before you rush off into a relationship, learn about yourself first.

2. Practice Gratitude

Staying in a state where you are grateful is going to be paramount to building a long-lasting relationship. Our day-to-day lives can seem monotonous if you are not grateful for what you have.

Many partners start to take each other for granted because they lose sight of being grateful for what they have. Most couples lose sight of what is important because they get lost in the monotony of life.

Waking up each day and remembering how grateful you are not only to be alive, but to be with each other is going to play a vital role in whether or not your relationship stands the test of time.

3. Keep A Positive Mindset

Sarcasm and negativity are a surefire way to destroy a relationship. Keeping a positive and healthy mindset will be so important in maintaining the health and well-being of your relationship.

Each day you must find ways to lift your spirits and stay positive as there are many ups and downs throughout life. One of the best ways of staying positive is by reading inspirational quotes each day. These quotes will help put you in a frame of mind that will help you to see what is truly important in life. They act as simple reminders as to why life is so precious.

4. Love Your Self

Before anyone can love you, you have to love yourself first. Just like it is important to know your self, you also have to have the type of relationship with yourself where you truly love the person in the mirror. How can someone else love you if you don’t love you.

All too often relationships go down hill because one person is always trying to overcompensate for the other person’s lack of self-worth. This is a sure fire way to deplete the other persons energy and create a form of animosity. So learn to love yourself.
