How ‘The Sleep Doctor’ Is Changing Lives

He's a maverick in the field of sleep.

Thrive Global and The Quaker Oats Company present The Fuel List—20 people changing the way we fuel our minds and bodies every day. These are the leaders making an impact in the worlds of sleep, nutrition, movement and mindfulness right now.

Dr. Michael Breus eats, drinks and yes, sleeps, sleep. Breus, also known as “The Sleep Doctor” has authored three books, including Good Night: The Sleep Doctor’s 4-Week Program to Better Sleep and Better Health, about how to sleep better and the benefits good sleep brings to your life, including boosting your productivity and improving your relationships. He uses his books, articles and television appearances to help people understand the tenets of good sleep, why it’s essential for every aspect of our lives and why sleep is the opposite of wasted time. A clinical psychologist and board-certified sleep specialist, Breus is also a diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

“Dr. Breus is a maverick in the field of sleep — and thanks to him, not only do many people rest easier at night, but we also know so much more about how sleep can impact many facets of wellness.” — Sadira Furlow, Senior Marketing Director of Consumer Engagement, PepsiCo North America Nutrition

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
