When it comes to meditation benefits, you probably think about how it improves anxiety, reduces stress, enhances self-awareness, and can increase your energy. These benefits are great reasons to start meditating, but what if it it could also help with physical characteristics and improve your self-confidence. Did you know meditation could also help with your hairline? Let’s take a closer look at how meditation can work to improve self-confidence

Hair loss has many causes from genetics, to stress and even hormonal imbalances. Unfortunately, many people who are dealing with hair loss struggle with anxiety, self-confidence, and stress as their hair starts to go. This is where meditation comes into play.

The Effects of Stress

Stress can do a number on your health, anxieties, and confidence. When you experience a traumatic event or have prolonged exposure to high-stress levels, you might start dealing with more uncomfortable issues that can exacerbate these other problems, such as high blood pressure, hair loss, and more.

Benefits of Meditation for the Body

Meditation works to prevent hair loss in three ways. First, it can improve your circulation, second, it reduces your stress levels, and third, it improves your breathing. While these three components might seem small, they work together to support a healthy head of hair, here’s why.

  1. It Improves Circulation

Meditation doesn’t just affect your mind. In fact, it can also improve your circulation and encourage blood flow to your head (and your brain). When you reduce stress and encourage healthy circulation, your body gets the nutrients and healthy blood flow it needs to stay healthy.

  1. It Reduces Stress

You probably already know this, but meditation offers incredible benefits for your mental health. Too much stress can cause a number of problems, like lowered energy, insomnia, depression, autoimmune diseases, and digestive issues. Meditation helps combat this by regulating your endocrine system, reduces cortisol, improves breathing, reduces heart rate, and puts your body into a state of ease. Even better, you only need to practice meditation for 10-20 minutes per day to reap the benefits.

  1. It Improves Your Breathing

Did you know that your body uses breathing as a way to clear toxins out of your body? And yet, many of us do not even pay attention to breathing other than knowing that we do it every day. Meditation and pranayama help regulate your breath, bring awareness to it, and release toxins from the body- therefore improving your overall health and reducing toxins that interfere with a healthy head of hair.

If you are experiencing hair loss, try adding meditation to your daily routine. You can also add hair growth supplements and low-level laser therapy, if you need some extra help; however, it’s essential to focus on reducing stress levels if you plan to grow back your hair sustainably.
