Are you looking for home upgrades that can actually make your life easier? Too often, homeowners install or invest in upgrades that are more decorative in nature than actually practical. Don’t waste your money. Here are a few home upgrades that can actually improve your life.

1. Water-Softener

Perhaps you’ve considered installing a water-softener into your home before, but haven’t yet gotten around to it. There are many benefits of installing water-softeners in Los Angeles and other cities with hard-water. The main benefit is that you’ll see a reduced calcium build-up in your appliances.

Are you tired of having to scrub away at your faucets and showerheads because of the build-up? A water-softener can take care of those problems. Not only can this help those finishes last longer, but it also means the water that you use is healthier to drink. A little calcium won’t hurt you, but you want your water to be pure and free of any hard elements in it. The water-softener can provide safe water to use with your appliances as well as to wash in.

2. Water-Filteration

It can be easy to just buy the small jugs or faucet attachment versions of water-filters. Those don’t always filter everything out, however. You also have to replace them every few months.

When you want safe drinking water, then you need to invest in a heavy-duty water-filter system. This system should attach to the water source itself. The water runs through the filter system before it is used. When you need to access the water, the pure water is pumped through the appliance.

Sometimes you can find water-softener and water filters together. Both of these together can make your water troubles go away.

3. Solar Panels/Green Energy

Another investment to make is green energy. Why pay for your electricity when you can get it for free? Whether you want to use solar panels or another green energy method, the investment will have a strong return. A lot of millennials and future homebuyers will appreciate that the solar panels have already been installed for them.

As for yourself, you can benefit from having clean energy. Your energy bills will be reduced if not completely removed. In some states and areas, you may even be able to sell any excess energy that you have to the power company for a small profit each month.

4. Smart Technology

If you haven’t made the switch to using smart technology in your home yet, then you’re missing out. It may seem like nothing to simply turn on a light or start your oven yourself, but that’s just because you don’t know what it’s like to have it all controllable through your phone.

Imagine how more efficient your life could be if you included smart technology into your home. Do you want to cook a pizza when you get home? Simply pre-heat the oven with a push of a button when you’re miles away. By the time you get there, the oven is ready for your pizza.

5. Security

One last upgrade is home security. Whether it’s just a few cameras around the home or even a simple doorbell camera, this upgrade can make you feel and be safer. Why put your family at risk without a security system put into place?

Upgrade Your Life

Small upgrades can change the quality of your life. Consider implementing these five upgrades into your home today.
