It’s a new year and Holistic Happening is already achieving so much! To help the community start the year healthy and well, we hosted a Holistic Happening Workshop With Thrive Global. We brought all the yoga, snacks and goals setting to the people!

Thrive Global is the creation of Arianna Huffington, yup, that Huffington. It focuses on wellness by curating events and workshops for the community and also selling wellness products. The mission is to “end the stress and burnout epidemic” so that people can perform at their very best both as individuals and employees.

Thrive Global wants people to focus on a work-life balance and even has an app that deletes emails that come in when you are on vacation so that you don’t stress about coming back to work with an overflowing inbox. The idea is to completely let go, live your life and not worry as much about work. Working later and more hours does not mean working harder.

On January 4th, Holistic Happening hosted a workshop at the Thrive Pop-Up Store in New York City. It was a free event, open to the public and took place in the store among all of the stress reducing products ranging from herbal tea, pillows, and iphone charging beds.

Kayla taught a 45 minute yoga to 25 attendees, both old and new friends! Then attendees enjoyed small bites, a taste of what we offer at our typical Downward Dog & Dine events. For lunch we featured an arugula salad with roasted delicata squash, apples, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate seeds as well as a paleo, gluten free, dairy free, egg free and refined sugar free coconut flour chocolate chip cookie. I then led a goal setting workshop to help people focus on their goals for the new year.

The day was completely magical and really brought to life the mission of Holistic Happening to create interactive wellness events to help people thrive. It was the perfect collaboration with Thrive Global and I am so excited about the growth of Holistic Happening.

We have some exciting events coming up in the new year so be sure to check out the events page to join us. We’re especially excited for out first-annual Day of Wellness on February 11th!
