Hello Loves!

My Beginner Speech

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

I am new to Thrive, and I joined because I would constantly see the articles on my linkedin page and get so inspired by others ‘ stories of life experiences. Being able to read that others were going through the same issues I was, was a relief. So I am here now, hoping to help someone else out there understand that they are not alone and hopefully the stories I have to tell will uplift and encourage others to tell their stories.

I want to use Thrive as a platform to express m emotions and thoughts so they are not being kept hidden in the depths of my heart. As I have learned, that isn’t really the best way to live life, and as quoted by one of my favorite reads A Picture of Dorian Gray, “I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them”. No longer will I hide in the shadows of my darkest thoughts.

To all those that come across my stories, I hope I can leave you with something that you might take to heart or pass along to the next person in need of some uplifting and encouragement.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
