The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.
Each empowering life note is designed to introduce girls to their own personal power while teaching them that everything they need in life can be find on the inside.

Hey, Sweet Soul,

All the world really wants from you is for you to be your truest, real-est self. I know that sometimes we act differently to fit in or be accepted by a certain group of people—I’ve totally been there. The thing is, though, that if you try to be “somebody else,” you will attract friends into your life who like that “somebody else,” not the real and amazing you. It doesn’t feel good to pretend for the sake of others. Be honest with yourself… How long can you keep that kind of game up, anyway? Maybe the most interesting and exciting thing about you is the thing you are most afraid to share. How unfair would it be to you and to the world to not experience the real you? It would be a straight-up shame! What’s one very real thing about you that makes you fabulous? #getreal
