Why do we feel this loss so personally?? Because we all thought we knew Mary even though we didn’t. I watched Mary in college and later when I got my first full time job in television it was still me and Mary Saturday nights…and that was okay. She showed us that YOU could have a career be happy, successful, fulfilled even though you were (gasp) single. Yet it was clear men were important in her life and she treasured those friendships and relationships too! She opened the door for so many of us, and we are still walking through. Thank you, Mary, thank you.
