How to refresh your motivation, and dream like a child.

How ambitious and motivated were you as a child? How imaginative were your dreams and your fantasies? Maybe you wanted to be an astronaut, a world-renowned sports star, a famous actor or actress?

As kids, we don’t care what others think about our dreams. We go for what we desire with our imagination and curiosity leading the way. The problem is that as we grew older, we were told to be realistic, to not dream too much because if we did, we would get disappointed. We were told to be more subtle in our approach of life, and to just be happy to ‘fit in with the crowd’. This is a motivation killer, and unfortunately, too many people resort to an unmotivated life of just going with the flow.

I am always dreaming big when it comes to my personal life, my business, and of course my health and fitness. I live by my favourite quote, which is “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” I love this quote, it encourages you to get wild with your dreams, and even if you fall short on what you were hoping for, at least you’ll be much further forward than where you were when you started.

You only have one life to live, so why not grab chances with both hands and make the most of your abilities and opportunities? Shake things up and go against the status quo, that’s how you will achieve enjoyment and fulfillment from being on this planet. No one is stopping you from dreaming big. The only things stopping you are your beliefs about what you can accomplish.

With your health and fitness, aim for goals that seem far-fetched. For example, if you dream of having a six-pack, don’t cut yourself short, go for that six-pack! Just because people may say that it’s not ‘realistic’, doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve it. Live your life with imagination, curiosity, and ambition, and you will increase the motivation you have for your goals.

An essential part of the process is to write down your goals every single day. By consistently writing down your goals, they will always be in the forefront of your subconscious mind. I have a habit of writing down my goals each and every night before going to bed. This allows me to constantly be motivated and in-touch with what I want, and I am able to take action each and every day to get closer to my goals. I am far-fetched, I aim high, there’s no problem with that. I know that even if I fall short, I’ll be far ahead of where I started from.

Before you can achieve your wildest dreams, you have to realize that you may have limiting beliefs about what you can accomplish. Understand that the only person holding you back is YOU. Life will be more fun when you let loose and just go for exactly what you want, whatever that may be. You only have one life to live, so go make the most of it!
