If you’re feeling burned out from work and need to turn that frown upside down, perhaps it’s time to take a vacation to one of the happiest cities in America. With great restaurants, climate, and people, these are the cities have us smiling from ear to ear. Next time you’re ready to get away from it all, which one will you choose?

1. Miami
With its gorgeous tropical climate year-round and thriving nightlife scene, it’s no wonder that Miami, Florida is a favorite place to visit for those feeling a little low. In fact, a recent report from Bellhops Moving even stated that many tourists end up moving to Miami after visiting – they love it that much.

2. Portland
Portland, Oregon, on the opposite end of the country, is another great getaway to refresh you. The chill vibes of the Portland rain create the perfect scene for long chats over hot coffee, and wandering the town looking for interesting book stores and thrift shops. For you music lovers, you’ll fall in love with the city’s laid-back music venues, too. Portland’s eclectic vibes will keep you coming back for peace, time and time again.

3. Boulder
Have you seen more beautiful mountains than those in Boulder, Colorado? The perfect outdoorsy vacation awaits you; it may seem counteractive, but when you’re feeling burnt out, the endorphins from exercise can actually improve your mood, energy levels and well-being. Whether you enjoy hiking, rock climbing, biking, or just strolling around the scenic landscape, there is something for everyone to get out and get moving. Boulder is also home to several craft breweries, so you can indulge a little on your active vacation.

4. San Francisco
San Francisco, California is a fantastic place to visit any time of year. Strolling along the Golden Gate Bridge makes for an iconic photo opp, and you’ll be in foodie heaven with all the unforgettable restaurants around every corner. Make sure to ride one of the city’s classic cable cars while you’re there as well to really feel like you’re a world away from home.

5. Seattle
With so many amazing breweries to choose from, how could you not be happy in Seattle, Washington? Drink in hand, prepare to be wowed by the city’s vibrant arts and culture scene. There’s certainly a reason why Microsoft, Starbucks, and Amazon all have offices in this picturesque, happy city.
