We tend to fantasize about (or visualize) many things we desire—a new car, bigger house, the perfect vacation, etc. But we rarely take the time to think of creating a better version of ourselves. When you look good, you feel good. Life gets hectic. I get it. Whether it’s putting in overtime hours at work, school, or the home, we tend to forget about that one person that matters most—YOU. But now is the time that you put yourself FIRST. If not now, when? You’ve waited long enough! It’s normal to get in the “comfort zone” and snuggle under those sweats that feel as comfortable as the oldest couch in your house. But do you really feel great? Like, really great. If you want to change your look, then, just— do it! I studied image consulting and while hiring one that’s knowledgeable is worth it, I can attest that it can be pretty costly. I understand that not everyone can afford a professional expert. This is why I am telling you what I would tell a client, that it is okay to fantasize about yourself and ways to improve your overall image.
Imagine yourself as the person you want to look like and work hard at it. Sometimes we like to change our look, hairstyle, fluctuate in weight purposely, or go from brunette to platinum blond, just because it is fun playing with our image. That’s exactly what fashion is supposed to be— enjoyable and daring. This is why I love Drag Queens. And do you know why? Because they don’t just want to look like women, they want to look like QUEENS. They dream about what they want to look like and they go for it. And so should you! Now, hold your horses misses. I’m not telling you to look like a drag queen. I want you to look like the queen you already are with the look you desire.
Do you want to go for a dramatic look? Lose weight? Change your style from conservative to sexier or vice versa? Do you want to change your makeup looks? Then do it! Who cares if your partner or coworkers see it as too edgy, or that the style isn’t you. The point is to go with what makes you happy. Close your eyes, envision the person you want to be and become it. Try different things. Think outside the box. What’s the worst thing that could happen? If you don’t like it, then go back to your “normal” self. And don’t worry about what others think about you, at the end of the day the only opinion that should matter is the one you have of yourself. Let this be your metamorphosis phase, and we hope you enjoy the process as well as the new and improved you.
