Venice

Venice, the city of houses on stilts and canals instead of roads, is one of Italy’s most treasured and special vacation sites. It’s a world-famous photography destination, and any photo shoot of Venice is guaranteed to be a success with so many historic landmarks, charming gondolas, and picturesque bridges.

The city has all the romance you need for truly special wedding photographs, and enough adventure and excitement to make it a fun experience for the whole family. With so many places to visit and such a distinct character, it might be worth while to have a professional photographer in Venice with you to make sure the best parts are captured on camera.

To give you some ideas for planning a trip to Venice, here are some of the top places to visit in the city that would be important to include in a photo shoot of Venice.

Rial to Bridge

Venice is full of bridges crisscrossing over the canals and connecting streets. The Rialto Bridge is probably the most famous of them all and is almost mandatory to include in a Venice photo shoot. Either on the bridge itself or viewing the spectacular architecture from a gondola on the canal, you’ll be amazed by the beauty and elegance of the Rialto Bridge.

Piazza San Marco

The central square of Venice is also where the most famous church of the city, the Basilica di San Marco, is located. This ornate and elegant church once served as a private chapel for the Doge but is now open to the public. You can include the church and square in your photo shoot of Venice in a variety of perspectives and angles. Facing the church from the opposite side of the square, you get an appreciation for the size and architecture, while up close you can use the intricate mosaics that decorate the interior for some truly stunning shots.

The Doge’s Palace

Another lavish and spectacular landmark of Venice, the Doge’s Palace displays remarkable architecture and beauty unique to Venice. You can either admire the building from the outside, or plan ahead to get a tour of the interior and possibly across the Bridge of Sigh’s leading to what was once the prison of the city. For any traveler or photographer in Venice, the Doge’s Palace is a must-visit site for its significance and iconic presence in the city.

The Grand Canal

Venice is filled with canals, but the primary waterway through the city is special. Much wider than the other canals, here you can appreciate the size and architectural achievement of building a city on top of the water. There are plenty of local shops, cafés, and restaurants to explore along the length of the canal, giving you countless opportunities for some great photos of Venice. Get a full cultural experience by taking a gondola ride down the canal or explore the shops and get some great iconic pictures of your trip.

A city of dreams, Venice attracts visitors from around the world, and it will be easy to understand why when you come to Venice. No matter what occasion brings you on vacation, you can be guaranteed a special experience and great photo shoot in Venice, being a place full of culture, art, and unique style.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
