Finding Solace in this Coronavirus time…

Let's pause and acknowledge the many hidden blessings of Coronavirus Crisis

It is certainly not a coincidence that the coronavirus literally translates to the crown virus. The crown refers to our head and our mind. And it is doing its job, getting everyone in their minds and you should be but it should not disconnect you from your heart. Because this virus might be called Coronavirus or covid19 but it is affecting our lungs and our heart…imposing social distancing. Strangely enough, lung affections are always connected to grief as highlighted by Louise Hay in her famous book ‘’ You can heal your life”. Ancient traditional Chinese Medicine – where each organ is connected with a specific emotion – links lungs to grieving.

So maybe this time, is or must be seen as a precious time to grieve and to honor the cycles of Life, Destruction and Rebirth. Maybe it is a time to reflect on what no longer serves us in our body-mind-heart connection.

It’s probably time to allow yourself to grieve whatever you have been holding on to; your “so called normal “life before this started; your “so called beliefs” about the world, your job, your career, how irreplaceable you are … or how this kind of disaster can’t affect western countries.

This disease has proven that we are one. One big human family and there are no Asians, Blacks, White, Arabs, ..just humans suffering from the same disease.

Who would have thought that the entire planet could go on pause like that? No one…

Yet, I do believe in a greater order and that things always happen for a reason, even if the only reason is to learn from it and to grow stronger.

So, after many discussions with friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, most of them virtual by the way, I decided to gather all the silver linings that were shared, in a way to find solace through this situation. I believe they need to be heard, shared and expanded, far and wide. I believe that we can evolve together, even … and especially when the entire planet is on ‘’hold”.

I know that we can turn the virus into an ally by letting it motivate all of us to take conscious care of ourselves and to be mindful of each other. A network can spread a virus — but it can also spread happiness, help, gratitude, and optimism. We can find solace if we can look at all of this “never ever happened before” situation with the eyes of a child and focus on gratitude and on the silver linings and there are many.

So, let’s be grateful and find solace in enjoying…

‘’My silver lining is the gifting permission of slowing down and refining all the spots and places that are constantly in motion. Refining and honing and feeling what’s available at a slower less enforced pace’’

‘’More time to focus on what’s important…’’

‘’I learned to be patient with my kids, my partner and myself’’

“I initially wanted to separate and save myself now all I want to do is connect deeply one on one to many ones. I’m not afraid anymore.”

“ I cried a lot and I had not cried for such a long time. It felt like letting go of all the burden and the sh… I can breathe now”

“I get to work on a book I have been planning to write for years”

and at last but not at least, MORE NATURE...

I live in the big apple, the city that never sleeps and well she is grounded and she is taking a rest, whether she wants it or not…I can hear the birds and it is amazing”

I spotted a boar while walking my dog… That’s pretty unusual as I live in Hong-Kong..”

” Mother Nature is teaching us a lesson and forcing us to slow down”

So, you see, every cloud has a silver lining… We may not know how we are going to make it through this. We may not be able to see it yet and it may last a few more months but we can make it …by keeping our minds quiet and focusing on the silver lining. We only need to put one foot in front of the other and to be willing to dive deep. So what about starting our own “silver lining pandemic”? It is an infectious song that says …
