The team went on to interview realtor Nigel Nethersole and talked about why real estate is his passion.

Here’s how it went.

It’s great to have you here. Can you please tell us more about yourself and what you do?

“I was born and raised in Edmonton and am a university graduate with a Management Degree majoring in Marketing with a minor in Accounting. My career path started in Accounting, and I began to invest in Real Estate, which sparked a passion I had to pursue. I started my Real Estate Career in 2005 and have never looked back!”

What is your service area? What are the benefits of working in this area? What are the amazing features of these areas that people should know before moving here?

“Edmonton, Alberta and surrounding areas. The vast beauty of the River Valley. The trail systems are endless. Our culinary scene is one of the best.”

Edmonton is Alberta’s center for culture, with excellent theaters, top-notch museums, world-class galleries, and a thriving musical scene. One of the best places to visit are:

  1. West Edmonton Mall. It is not only Canada’s largest shopping center, but it’s also a major tourist attraction. Along with the countless shops and restaurants, it also has a hotel, ice rink, and a large aquarium.
  1. Elk Island National Park & Beaver Hills. This national park is just a 30-minute drive from Edmonton and covers a wooded area with lakes and wetlands, and is home to all kinds of wildlife, including moose, elk, deer, and beaver. But the main attraction of Elk Island National Park is the large herd of buffalo (bison), which graze over a special enclosure.

Do you work with a specific type of client or within a particular niche? (Commercial, Investment, First-time Homebuyer, etc.)

“I focus on being a residential realtor. Assisting clients who are looking for their dream homes.”

Being the professional realtor he is, he recommends to future home buyers that it is a perfect time to invest in real estate now. He also recommends hiring a professional realtor with sufficient knowledge about the place of interest, just like himself.

How is the market performing right now? Is it the right time to acquire your services?

“It is definitely a good time to move.”

Tell us a little about your personal life? Ex: who do you live with? What are your hobbies? Do you have any pets? Etc.

“I am married. I have two daughters. I love sports, skiing, squash, mountain biking. I also love music, and let’s not forget about the food!”

What are some pieces of advice that you would give to potential clients looking to buy, sell or invest in your service area?

“Location is important for lifestyle. But there are some great affordable pockets within the area. So it is good to ask yourself not only what do you want from a house, but what you’d like from a community.”

With Nigel being an adventurous person himself, he recommends living in a location that can support a client’s lifestyle. The personal interests that he has coincided with the community that he is living in. Because of this, he can effectively relate to his clients when it comes to following what they love about life. He also believes that a client should put the state of the community first when looking for a living area and not so much attention on the house itself.
