I was so busy fighting to breathe
Never realizing what else was at stake
Somehow I wish I could drink from Lethe
Just to forget how I’ve watched myself break

I lost someone without realizing it
Guess I was so busy fighting demons in my head
I never felt myself falling into this dark pit
Whilst not realizing who I used to be was now dead

Still unsure whether it was really a loss
Or if like a snake I just shed my skin
Depression became not only an enemy but my boss
In this battle I unwillingly let it win

In some way, this is a eulogy
saying goodbye to the person I used to be
Because these shadows ruined me without apology
So rest in peace dear old me.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
