Sleeping is a form of medicine that can heal your body in so many ways. People that lack of rest can lead to many medical issues that you may not be aware of. Sleepless nights may intervene with your daily activities, weight gain, and can cause an unhealthy risk towards your hormones. So here are some benefits for a better night of sleep.

Sleep can help the prevention of diseases

Normally you’re suppose to get up to 7 to 9 hours of sleep daily. Sleep interacts with your blood vessels which leads to the heart and without sleep may cause heart attacks. It also can rise your blood pressure, which may cause strokes. Lack of sleep are risk factors to high cholesterol, heart diseases, and many more.

Sleep reduces stress

Sometimes you may find yourself and others cranky if they had little to no sleep. Mood swings can be from not getting the proper sleep from the night before. This will cause you not to function properly at work, eat an unhealthy diet, and gain weight. Have you ever worked out and find the next day that you’re sore? Well sleep has a way of healing muscles when you’re sleep. That’s why you shouldn’t return to weight-lifting if your body is sore. Getting the proper amount of sleep can give you a longer life span because you’re preventing diseases that may occur if you don’t sleep properly. Sleeping can also give you more energy and you can be more productive during the day.

While you’re sleeping your body is resting, but your brain is actually processing the activities of the day. Your brain has links towards input, feelings, and memories. So the more you sleep you get, the more your brain can process memories and giving you quality of life. It makes you remember and process things a lot better.

Sleep can help maintain or lose weight

Researchers have proven that people who get less than 7 hours daily will likely to be overweight because of the increase of appetite. You will have cravings of unhealthy and sugary foods. This affects the hormones ghrelin and leptin have on your appetite due to the lack of sleep. So if you don’t want to gain weight and have your hormones completely imbalanced, then getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep daily will avoid these issues.

Sleep can reduce depression

People that have serotonin deficiencies and lack of sleep are likely to develop depression. That’s why it’s very important to get the amount of sleep that’s required so you can be healthy. Everything will be much easier with 7 to 9 hours of sleep. You can function properly, be energized, and more productive.
