Don’t Be Afraid Of The No.

Because it is the only way to know who you are.

Don’t be afraid of the No. It simply means it wasn’t meant to be. Yet.

Don’t be afraid of the No. Because it simply means not yet.

Don’t be afraid of the No. Because it is the only way to know that a No is simply a no.

***

The No is simply an answer.

A response.

“Would you like something to drink?”

“Are you cold?”

“Do you feel at peace?”

No, you aren’t thirsty right now. Or, yes you are.

No, you aren’t cold right now. Or, yes you are.

No, you feel a little unsettled and anxious right now. Or, yes you feel calm and at peace.

A No is simply an answer.

A response.

It is what you do with it that makes it more than what it simply is.

When you attach a Thought to the answer, you no longer hear what is being said.

Because you are hearing your thoughts now. Your own thoughts. Rather than what was said. And it was simply a No.

When you attach a Thought to the answer, you react. Rather than respond.

Because you are immediately reacting to your own thought that makes you think you should just give up.

The No is simply an answer.

A response.

A response you can receive for you too.

To stop the thoughts that keep making you think the No has anything to do with you.

So you can start standing up for you in your own mind.

To say No to the thoughts that keep you stuck in your own head. To say No to the thoughts that make you think you need to be afraid to live. To say No to the thoughts that make you think you need to wait to love.

Don’t be afraid of the No. Because it is the only way to know who you are.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
