Diabetes(diabetes mellitus) is a group of diseases that occurs due to an abnormal increase in glucose level. The disease can damage the body’s organs, such as large (macrovascular) and small (microvascular) blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke and even other health complications related to kidneys, eyes, gums, feet and nerves.

Below are some bitter truths about diabetes. Let’s have a look.

  • People believe diabetes is caused just because of high blood sugar levels, but that is not the case every time. Diabetes symptoms occur because the body cannot secrete a sufficient amount of insulin to digest sugar content.

Now, this complication of not producing sufficient insulin mainly occurs due to obesity, overweight, or family history. However, on top of this, consuming a large amount of sugar triggers diabetes symptoms.

  • Some even think limiting sugar intake will cure diabetes. Just like the problem with diabetes patients is not sugar level but the insufficient secretion of insulin. Similarly, limiting sugar intake will lower the blood sugar level but cannot treat it.

Healthy functioning of the pancreas is needed in order to cure diabetes completely. For that, a healthy lifestyle is mandatory and medicines will work as a catalyst to improve your symptoms.

  • People often think gestational diabetes will affect the child as well, but things don’t happen this way. First of all, only 9% of pregnant women become insulin resistant at the time of pregnancy. Women with no diabetes symptoms can also develop gestational diabetes even though the pancreas is working well.

Instead, it is recommended to work with your obstetrician, endocrinologist, or diabetes educator to manage diabetes symptoms.

These are some of the misunderstandings among most of us regarding diabetes. The symptoms you know may be true by the cause of its occurrence might differ. However, irrespective of the cause, some healthy habits can help resolve diabetes symptoms easily.

What Healthy Lifestyle Is Necessary For Diabetics?

Depending on the type of diabetes, following the points that should be remembered if you are diagnosed with high blood sugar levels.

Type1 Diabetes

Before starting, remember things you need to avoid. Starchy or sugary foods increase the blood sugar level rapidly. Protein and fat cause a more gradual increase.

Eat healthy fats, proteins, and nutrient-dense in carbohydrates. It is good to consult with a -dietitian for a perfect balanced diet.

Here are some basic needs for Type 1 diabetic people, ask your dietitian about them:-

  • Carbohydrate
  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Whole Grains
  • Protein and fats

Type 2 Diabetes

As mentioned earlier, too much sugar intake is not the only cause of type 2 diabetes; high blood sugar and obesity are the leading causes. However, a healthy diet and regular physical activity can compensate for the cause of type 2 diabetes and help resolve diabetes symptoms.

Therefore, try to be consistent with physical activity and do not forget to include the following things in your diet:-

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Whole grains
  • Lean proteins, such as poultry and fish
  • Healthy fat, such as olive oil and nuts

NOTE:- Regular physical exercise is necessary for everyone, it doesn’t matter if you have any health complications.

Gestational Diabetes

In gestational diabetes, consuming a well-balanced diet is very important because it’s about the mother and the child. In such cases, you cannot completely stop having sugar. This will abnormally affect the child as some amount of sugar is needed for his growth.

Do not self medicate or ignore any symptoms. Instead, consult the doctor as it’s about a new life. The doctor will guide you to the best quantity of sugar intake for you and your baby.

Additionally, avoid self-medication. There are around 35-75% of male diabetics that have erection difficulty. If you fall under this category, inform your doctor, but do not self medicate.

Some men try to do so with pills like Cenforce 100 for a better erection; this can be harmful. In addition, medications like Cenforce 100 contain Sildenafil Citrate that affects the blood flow rate and may worsen the condition. This is just an example. Do not consume any medicine without asking the doctor, even if it’s Cenforce 100.

What Medications Are Required For Diabetes?

Medication along with a healthy lifestyle will work the best in treating diabetes symptoms:-

Type 1 diabetes

Based on the time taken by the insu-lin to come into action and their long-lasting effect, the insu-lin is categorized as follows:-

  • Rapid-acting insu-lin
  • Short-acting insu-lin
  • Intermediate-acting insu-lin
  • Long-acting insu-lin

Type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes majorly occurs when the body is unable to secret sufficient insulin in order to dissolve the consumed sugar content. In most cases, this occurs because of a layer of cholesterol on the blood cells that use insu-lin.

Such cholesterol layers can be due to multiple reasons; obesity, high cholesterol, unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, hyper-tension, etc. Removal of this cholesterol will help resolve type 2 diabetes. This can be done through regular physical exercise and some group of medications, such as:-

  • inhibitors
  • Glucagon-like peptides
  • Alpha-glucosidaseinhibi-tors
  • Biguanides
  • DPP-4
  • Meglitinides
  • SGLT2 inhibitors
  • Sulfonylureas
  • Thiazo-lidine-diones

Gestational Diabetes

Pregnant women need special care and consequently go through multiple blood sugar checkups in a day. In case it is found high, dietary changes and physical workouts may or may not be enough to control the sugar level.

In the worst-case scenario, about (10-20)% of pregnant women with gestational diabetes end up in need of insulin in order to lower their blood sugar level. However, the sugar level gets back to its normal state with mild medication and regular exercise in most cases.

At the time of treatment, if you have any difficulty with erection, do not try self-medication, even though the medicine is commonly known as Viagra or Cenforce 100. Sildenafil present in Cenforce 100 may worsen the condition in men with cardiovascular complications. Men with type 2 diabetes may have some cardiovascular disease as the cause, and consuming Cenforce 100 will worsen the condition.

If you read about such pills, you will know Cenforce 100 contains sildenafil citrate that shows interactions with nitrate drugs. Therefore, it is remarked, men consuming any blood pressure medicine should not consult the doctor before taking Cenforce 100. Therefore, keep these following points in mind, it is for your betterment.
