Creating a Legacy

When you love your life... You leave a legacy

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. The journey is yours to master and yours to share with others

Image yourself at the end of your life. You have been blessed with a long life full of all that life brings. You are sitting in your favorite chair about to turn in for the night and your grandchild comes and sits down at your feet and says “tell me the secret to life.” What a privilege to share that to the next generation. What an obligation (albeit an awesome one) that we have in life.

Do you know what you would say? Are you creating the legacy that you want to pass on to your family? Have you created relationship and points of interest on your journey that have made lasting memories?

Suppose now that you are knocking on deaths door, lying silently still unable to talk but family and friends are surrounding you. Would they know your legacy. Would they be sitting around you saddened by the immanent physical passing but laughing and peaceful at what you have left them?

My challenge to you is to create a legacy… now! Start today. Loving your life and creating a legacy rests on three essential elements: foundation, growth, and experience. Where is your foundation? What growth have you had / are having throughout your life? What experiences are you leaving behind you as you journey through life……

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
