Well health officials across the U.S. are working to stop the spread of the coronavirus outbreak right now. There are more than 550,000 cases in the U.S. across various states. The goal is to keep that number low. We’re committed to separating facts from fear when it comes to the coronavirus. Let’s start with the latest updates on the coronavirus- what kinds of cases are we seeing so predominantly in the U.S.? We are seeing a lot of folks who have traveled from endemic areas and now are back to their homes and are probably being placed on what’s considered a self-quarantine- just stay at home and watch for symptoms. Unfortunately, you know a lot of popular places for travel that have been hit pretty hard. Such places include: majority of Europe, Italy, Spain, France and even Germany. In order to keep an eye on the latest figures of the widespread of this pandemic, we have got the latest stats counter for our audience.

Coronavirus Widespread And Impact

The virus originated from China, spread to Japan and South Korea as well as the Middle East and then eventually to the U.S… We’re seeing quite a bit of folks who’ve been coming from areas that have been affected by covid-19 and then spreading the caught virus among their close contacts. So how does the coronavirus impact you? Is it changing your travel plans? Are you working from home? Are you taking the necessary precautions- buying cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer? Or is it not impacting you at all? What are the coronavirus symptoms and how do they differ from the flu- we think- that’s a big question for everybody right now and that too, a fantastic one!  What’s challenging is both the flu and the virus are respiratory types of infections and they’re both caused by viruses. Generally with flu, folks probably show their symptoms very quickly and so the incubation period for flu is just four days but people start showing symptoms around the second day. Usually when it comes to SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes covid-19 – we noticed that the incubation period is up to 14 days and some people show symptoms as early as the second day but probably around the fifth or sixth day the symptoms are kind of similar so that’s what puts one under a state of confusion. We know that people get fever-they experience coughing and shortness of breath sometimes with flu. Body aches are pretty common too. It usually affects people who are much older however, it is strongly advised that everyone, irrespective of age, should be on guard and protect themselves at all costs!

Testing And Prevention

The test is pretty accessible and rapid to find out. 80% of the people show mild symptoms which consist of headaches, fever and dry cough- such symptoms tend to gradually vanish. However, more concerning cases are those which are severe where the symptoms develop into pneumonia that severely affects the pupil’s lungs. Such cases grab the most attention. Any helpline can be contacted at the moment for queries or if a person feels like what they are experiencing is similar to the known symptoms of the novel coronavirus. A lot of institutions like different health care communities have updated their Hospital websites and also they’ve disseminated a lot of information to their primary care doctors to help and make aware the general public about the basics as well as the severity of the situation. In terms of like multiple cases, it is a good thing to discuss before-hand with a primary care doctor and so if you’re having fever and shortness of breath or cough it’s worth calling to letting them know ahead of time that you would like to be assessed and then also probably can talk to the person on call for that clinic to finding out whether you should be going to the Health Department or should be going to the clinic versus the emergency room.

Another mind-boggling question is that how are hospitals across the US and in the Triad prepared for the coronavirus. A lot of institutions are working very hard including core health facilities and getting prepared for the estimated cases in the community so we’re trying to increase not only provider education but patient education. Common sense needs to prevail. Basic things like hand-washing is so important- cough hygiene as well (covering your face while you sneeze or cough). If you’re sick, try to stay at home. Traveling to areas that are affected by a coronavirus must be avoided.

In conclusion, if the right measures are practiced religiously, this disease can be fought. Social distancing should be practiced by all pupils because if the virus has no means to spread, it can’t survive for long without a host and will thus eventually die.
