Change Your Monday Mindset

Sometimes Mondays suck! Life isn't always a bed of roses and when the s#@t hits the fan you can feel lost and overwhelmed. When life hits hard your attitude will determine your direction! You can choose to sink or swim, to give up or push through!

Even if you feel you have nothing else, you always have a choice!

You have the choice to program your mindset to affect change.

  1. By maintaining a positive attitude
  2. By attacking projects and goals with passion
  3. By remaining patient and persistent
  4. By embracing change.

How can you help yourself maintain a positive mindset?

Don’t sweat the small stuff!

So they jumped the queue, they cut in front of you at the traffic lights, you have a mountain of housework or mundane tasks to complete. So what? Don’t sweat it! Breathe, give yourself a moment and put things in perspective.

Be yourself!

Don’t be a sheep, be who you’re supposed to be. People will always judge, comment and generally put you down no matter what you do, you can’t be liked by everyone all the time. That’s okay. Live by your own values, don’t waste precious time worrying what others think. It’s amazing how liberated you feel when you no longer require constant validation from others.

Don’t try to figure everything out!

It’s great to have a plan of action and aims to motivate you to achieve your goals. But sometimes when you have been thrown a few curve balls it’s enough to take each day as it comes, one step at a time. You don’t have to have everything mapped out intricately, just go with the flow and see where the river takes you.

Live in the moment!

Yesterday has been and gone. Tomorrow hasn’t happened. You have been given the gift of today, don’t waste it dwelling on the past or forecasting the future, be present!

Don’t give up!

Take small baby steps, climb one rung of the ladder each day and don’t look down. One day you will reach the top! Those small baby steps will become giant leaps. Your positivity, patience and persistence will pay off.

How do you ‘shift’ to and maintain your positive mindset?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
