This is how the idea came about
Biju’s parents were also teachers in South India. But Biju was more interested in playing football than studying. After completing his engineering studies, Biju started a job in a shipping company. In the meantime some friends had to take an MBA exam. For this he sought the help of Biju. Byju helped them prepare for the exam and thus started teaching them.
Then they started coaching the children. The number of students in his class increased. The situation was such that he started teaching children in a stadium! He became so famed with his coaching that he had to travel to nine cities in a single week. Because of teaching offline, he could not teach all the students.
Creating a New Education App
When Biju came up with the idea of doing something new in the field of education he realized that an education app should be created. In 2011, he founded Think and Learn Private Limited. According to a media report, the Think & Learn company received a combined funding of $ 15 million (Rs 1,035 crore) in July.
Today, Byju App and its company hold 21 percent of Biju Rabindran. The remaining 35% of the shares are owned by his wife and brother. In 2015 the app launched ‘Bejusus’, valued at $ 5.7 billion. It aims to increase its revenue to Rs 3,000 crore by March 2020.
The team will sponsor India
Byjus now has 3.5 million users, of which 24 million are paid users. Subscribers to this app are constantly growing. Given the increasing value of the company, this app team is going to become India’s main sponsor. Now on Team India’s jersey, the Chinese smartphone brand ‘Opo’ will see ‘Beijus’ written. The latest computer technology and animation features the most intuitive way of learning content in the Bejus app, which is one of the biggest reasons for its success.
Along with the users, the market value of the company is also increasing. They will be launching their service in the United States next year alongside the famous ‘Walt Disney’ company.
Wants to bring about a change in the education sector in India
Ravindran said he wanted to change the way the entertainment system was transformed by Walt Disney into the entertainment sector through his Mickey Mouse. Currently, Shahrukh Khan is seen in the Bejus advertisements. But in the new app, they also include characters from Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ to ‘Simba’ to ‘Frozen’.
