The building permit is an administrative file, forming part of the town planning authorizations such as the prior declaration of work, which allows the town planning services of your municipality to verify that your project complies with town planning rules and codes. It is generally required for the completion of medium to large-scale construction projects. The building permit is not a simple formality nor a simple form fill! It is a real complex file that requires a lot of knowledge and time to properly develop all the documents requested. It is generally advisable to be accompanied by a professional to be sure that your construction project sees the light of day quickly.

When is a building permit required?
