Breathe

A poem to remind you to breathe

When you get angry, breathe.
When your dinner seems ruined, breathe.
When you try, but fall off the wagon, breathe.
When it feels like you can’t possibly go on, breathe.
When life seems all around unbearable, when you lost all hope, breathe.
When you discover there is a light at the end of the tunnel, breathe.
When you feel you can be happy again, breathe.
When everything is good as it is, breathe.
When you feel full and alive, breathe.
So that when you are, you breathe.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
