I have struggled with not being good enough.

For the longest time I was scared that my best would not be good enough for the intended recipients. I let this fear hold me back from following on my dreams.

“There is always a chance that I will be good at it when I eventually get around to doing it” This was one of the things I told myself to excuse this fear.

How did I handle this?

I decided that I would be the toughest critic for myself. When there was a reason not to do something, I asked myself what the worst would be if I did it, and what the worst would be if I didn’t do it.

The answer to me not doing it was always the SAME. There was no growth in those areas of my life.

You always get better, not worse.

When you start doing something new, there is always room that you will get better. You cannot keep doing something and not improve at it.

If that is the case then you should look into why you do it in the first place.

How open are you to learning?

Remember,

“If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you, but if you are willing to learn, no one can stop you”.

Positive reinforcements

How do you motivate yourself?

Do you need constant reminders that you have it in you to be good at what you do?

Written notes in places you can access. Common phrases you find motivating. Is it being at the top of your chosen field, or simply the desire to be better?

These are a few examples of what you can use to keep yourself in the right frame of mind.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
